Guest blazingwolf Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 My phone seems to be missing the data connection settings on BW 23064 blue. It doesn't have the 777 connection settings under data connection. can I set these up on my own? if so what are the settings? Is this something wrong with my phone or was there a hiccup loading the rom? I have had this happen before on some other roms and I just assumed it was a problem with the roms. Edit: I found how to setup data connection: Settings / Connections / Connections / Manage Existing Connections Name: Data Network Connect Modem: Cellular Line Number: #777 Username: [email protected] (where xxxxxxxxxx is your phone number with area code) password: vzw Still wondering if is was a rom problem or my phone? This particular time it is a ROM issue. For some reason an app is crashing on install and it stops the install of the connection info. Typically if you hard reset the connection is set correctly. The connection settings you mention might work but you do not need a username or password. Once a app attempts to access the internet it will popup a request for a username. Instead, just put a check in save password and then connect. It will work. :D
Guest isuckrealbad Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 What did you use to back them up with? resco backup oh and if anyone wants to share their personal settings for the autocalllocker i would be appreciative ive been playing with the settings and still cant get it decent when trying to check vmail

These newer builds don't do well with things being restored to them. Hopefully these companies will catch up and make back ups better. My settings for autocalllocker: Load on system start: true Sensitivity: 12 Accelerometer: 40 Light Sensor: false Haptic feedback: true Blank screen when locked: true

My settings for autocalllocker: Load on system start: true Sensitivity: 12 Accelerometer: 40 Light Sensor: false Haptic feedback: true Blank screen when locked: true honestly, I've found autocalllocker more of a nuisance than anything. I guess it must be that I move around so much, switch ears and what not that the angle setting never holds for me. All I get no matter the setting is continuous lock-unlock-lock-unlock during any call. Very annoying. The light sensor is nice... until you make a call at night and need the keypad, lol. I have done better to adjust my call habits and never put pressure on it until the screen times out on its own. I keep the locker off. A friend of mine has this same rom and loves the locker... so I'm pretty sure it's just me.

There is a problem during the flashing process that does not setup the data connection correctly. You can hard reset your phone to fix it or follow some of the instruction in the other posts.

Guest dercetojones Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 I am? :D :P Well I, for one, am very happy with your last one (and secretly relieved to have a little break from flashing every week or so lol), but hope you aren't done with roms completely. Yours are easily my favorite, most well-rounded, stable roms around and, honestly, the only ones I will flash.

Guest stuffman64 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I'm running into a few issues with the *64 release that I just can't figure out and didn't affect me in prior releases. I'm sad there's not going to be a new BW release in the near future... I always seem to come back to the BW ROMs because they seem the most polished (though I don't want to take anything away from the other guys- they're all lightyears beyond the crap stock WinMo my Omnia came with). 1) I installed Shokka's black keyboards, as I like the Samsung Phonepad a bit better than the one you have right now... I like having the tab/txt9 button that I can change modes easily when using the word completion and entering a word that's not in the dictionary. Anyways, I get all sorts of lockups when either opening or closing the keyboard; the only solution is to cycle the power. 2) The alarm feature is completely borked. Say I set my alarm at night to wake me up at 10am on one day, then change it to 8am the next night for the day after, the alarm won't ring at 8am... but goes off at 10am. The alarm panel shows the right time, but the alarms don't go off properly. Note that I've hard reset and reflashed a few times just in case it was something else, but both problems seem pretty repeatable. Lastly, this is a problem that I've had for a while, but doesn't really bother me too much- after a few hours, my weather stops updating and my emails stop coming in. Cycling the data connection on and off sometimes solves it, but usually I'm stuck with a "connecting to accuweather" screen on my weather tab and my new emails don't show up. Did I miss something in a thread somewhere? Thanks for your help!

Hmm, haven't seen this one myself. I'll see if I can reproduce it. I have seen the accuweather one but I don't think it is a ROM issue. I think it is an issue with the site giving out the needed data to update the weather. Not sure I can do anything to fix it if this is the case.
Guest ivanwong Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 how can i show chinese? i change this rom..~but cannot show chinese...
Guest blazingwolf Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 how can i show chinese? i change this rom..~but cannot show chinese... You would have to get a hold of the Chinese language files. This is a English language ROM so all others have been removed.
Guest JDMjdawg Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Sounds like you have a program conflict that is causing a freeze. Should not be autocalllocker as the only time it kicks in is while in a phone call. Have you added other 3rd party programs? I would look in to running the ROM as is to see if you encounter this issue again. Hey BW! Just wanted to give you an update on my little issue. I un-installed WunderRadio and also changed the settings for wake-up to front buttons only(I read somewhere that someone did this and it fixed their issue with the phone not waking up). I doubt its the button settings that fixed the problem but anyway, all has been well now for the past 4 or 5 days, no lockups anymore! Thanks again for the great ROM and advice :D

Guest MajPayne Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 Looks good BW. Are the lower bottom buttons finger friendly?
