Guest thebiker Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I am realy dissapointed with the most Samsung/TouchWiz UI apps. I am looking for pure Windows Mobile ROM. Worst apps: Email SMS Calendar I think lot of people are waiting for a rom without Touchwiz!!! :)
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I am realy dissapointed with the most Samsung/TouchWiz UI apps. I am looking for pure Windows Mobile ROM. Worst apps: Email SMS Calendar Here is the best thing to do... 1. Touchwiz: Disable it and install PointUI (With Pointsense) 2. Email: Flexmail a better application 3. SMS: Use SMSChat 1.25 alot better and threaded. 4. Calendar: ThumCal more finger friendly (All the stated apps are faster, thats why i recommended them) Hope that helps your griefs atm :)
Guest argoldst Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 I use Vito SMS-Chat which is threaded, and I've done the registry fix which allows you to map rotation to a hardware button. Rotation is immediate. Personally i prefer sbp mobile shell over pointui but to each their own. Both are better than touchwiz.
Guest zetagnosis Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 Yes !!! we need ROM whitout Samsung software... is possible???....PLEASE !!! :)

PointUI PointSense is too buggy in OMNIA II (WVGA device) now.

Guest AXeLpro Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 I use iphone and omnia 2, even with touch wiz 2.0, omnia is terrible. Touch Wiz suck big tme, i just hate to read my emails with giant buttons and eye candies, i cant even pane the html web properly! Why samsung dont include a "switch" to toggle off and on the whole UI, rather than "some features only".
Guest sorg Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Why samsung dont include a "switch" to toggle off and on the whole UI. why some people so lazy to read manual or google it? there is such option.
Guest dutchphoto Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 (edited) I am realy dissapointed with the most Samsung/TouchWiz UI apps. I am looking for pure Windows Mobile ROM. Switch to the standard Windows Home screen. Just switch off the samsung Today widgets. How? RTFM!:) Worst apps: Email SMS Calendar Install TodayAgenda Edited September 17, 2009 by dutchphoto
Guest AXeLpro Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 why some people so lazy to read manual or google it? there is such option. I know it can be turned off. But I was saying it 'completely' meaning EMAILS and SMS are the original WM version. No matter how you do it, you cant revert back to their original skin.

No matter how you do it, you cant revert back to their original skin. It's not too difficult to disable also samsung email/sms and go back to WM version. You can read here how to do if u interested: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...mnia2-tips-faq/
Guest jktorrent Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 best if we can remove those samsung apps... if not .. it just take up too much space in our main memory ...wat a waste of space ..
Guest Yohng Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I am realy dissapointed with the most Samsung/TouchWiz UI apps. I am looking for pure Windows Mobile ROM. Worst apps: Email SMS Calendar I fully agree with the list of application and the worst is ToucWiz UI (I very don't like it). messaging, calendar & clock applications look same as beta (maybe alpha) versions .... Not really finish ... About ToucheWiz UI, definitively, I can not use it ! But, I like : TouchPlayer, the cube, Wifi & BT connection manager, settings, Audio Notes, SmartMemo, Mobile Tracker . PhoneBook is not so bad too ! What I whant to say is, don't be too critical because few Samsung applications are not perfect. Anyway, there is many ways to not use. And about saving space, 130Mo is not so bad compare to OMNIA the first !
Guest mightymouse1045 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 why some people so lazy to read manual or google it? there is such option. Can you tell us where it is then buddy, because i have searched all over the freaking place, and the solution that I see - samsung settings - general - touchwiz doesn't exist on my windows mobile 6.5 install. I have searched every option manually and the only thing i can turn off is the widgets on the today screen, and have spb mobile shell run at start up. but I STILL have the touchwiz ui start menu not the windows mobile start menu. So please ENLIGHTEN us all P.S. Really hate the attitute man piss off if you cannot contribute anything constructive.

Media Player (Touch Player) is also nice
Guest silvos3189 Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 i actually really love the touchwiz main menu... though i hate that winmo 6.5 start menu

If you want to use Samsung's start menu, you can do it by pressing your "cube" button.. The samsung start menu has 5 pages where you can slide left or right.. Guest dutchphoto Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 Well, there are alternatives for the TouchUI, like FEwidgets or Androkid For FWidgets there is another thread for the Widgets, and a Sense UI widget

Like this: Yeah thanks man - I have been slowly getting used to the phone and only just worked that out also :P lol I have been reading tacchan's other threads and getting better acquainted with the phone now. I think just disabling the widgets on the desktop pretty much disables the touchwiz ui, because even without the settings in 6.5 to disable it, after installing the settings cab for 6.5 so the touchwiz ui displays in the settings menu i see it is already disabled. So that works for me. :)
