I downloaded the first post

CSC_I8000FAMIH4.CSC

Eboot_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.eb0

PDA_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.MST

Phone_I8000DXIH2_REV_04.bin

After flashing I am getting

I8000XXIG6

I8000FAMIH4

I8000DXIH2

I thought I should be getting

I8000XXIH5 instead of I8000XXIG6

I have used OCTANS Downloader v2.0 and v1.91

Done this 3 times, but still same result.

Any help plz...

I flashed my phone after I got this firmware (See my first post) and I got XXIH5.

My Omnia 2 comes preloaded with I8000XXIG6. I think it is not updating on that part :)

Anybody encounters my problem?

Ignore me... I think I found my problem.

I forgot to select PDA_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.MST in the OCTANS downloader.

Typical noobie mistake... apologize.

Anyone with the black theme from G7? The new H5 has a 'black/purple' background that cannot work with some of the program that i need to run. Black text with black background.

Hope those with the Black theme from G7 can attach

Is the email send and receive properly with this version?

My email header is downloaded, but when i click for it to download the entire email, it doesn't seem to move.

Can't send email. It doesn't move and showed no error, just doing nothing.

Related to sending email, how do I change the port number for smtp?

Part04 gives a CRC error. You can ignore this error as flashing is working fine.

Have Fun.

Edit: Added new text.

I downloaded the firmware from the above mediafire links, extract out the files. It only consists of octans.exe and four other files. Double click on the octans.exe and selected the files for eboot, csc, mst and phone. Connect my phone to computer with XP SP3, but the "start downloading" button does not allow me to click.. How to upgrade the firmware? Thanks.

Step 1) E.Boot Select >E.boot_I8000XXXXX_HW_40_ebo

Step 2) MultiCSC Select > CSC_I8000XXXX_CSC (you can selected with difference language)

Step 3) MoviNAND Select > PDA_I8000XXX_HW_40.MST

Step 4) Phone Select > Phone_I8000XXX_REV-0X

Step 5) Phone power on (must be)> USB cable connect with Computer

Step 6) Press the Detect icon.

Step 7) Turn "OFF" the Phone power

Step 8) Press Start downloading icon

P.S Don't pull off the USB cable during the flashing ROM process and wait until it's done.

*Thanks to previa

Hi guys , I'm from Thai. I'm intend to flash the ROM but wondering if flashing ROM will erase all of my native language ie. Thai keyboard , reading Thai from SMS or web. If it's not , how should I do with Octan? Where should I mark ? where should not? According to some advise , he said

Quoted

(if you don't update the given csc file, it will not update language file!

So you will have again your old multilanguage file form the old version!)

Unquoted

Is it workable to do above method?

I get device.exe crashing every time i make a phonecall - it doesn't seem to affect anything though. Anyone else have this issue?

I have no problems with sending e-mails with MAPI protocol.

Also downloading the headers first, then I can download full message without any probems.

Are you using POP or MAPI protocol?

Is the Tclock.exe build in? I haven't seen this erros since the upgrade to H5. Can you explain where the app is and what you are doing when you got this error message?

Thanks
