Guest lioryte Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Bump for update, 28009 is uploading
Guest lioryte Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 28009 posted in first post and is ready for download. Release notes: * Still no WMP with lockscreen * Still no OK in settings>personal>phone, map to another button * Build Nov 29 * Changed from 28008: BaseApps doclist.dll pimstore.dll browsingie browsui.dll MediaOS wmcore.dll Shell pimutil.dll shell32.exe * Added latest V of Bing. Our device is not ready to support this so it might act funny, or not...This will be determined with feedbacks I'll get from people trying it and my own experience. As a result Free Memory is only 158MB, will get back to normal once a working .cab is released. Since I didn't get a chance to try it out or play with the new Bing Please provide a feedback- even "all OK" is a feedback. Thanks and enjoy
Guest NilsE Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 (edited) A ROM a day keeps the doctor away Nice job. Will report back shortly Edited December 5, 2009 by NilsE
Guest rubadub234 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 hey Lioryte, loving the new roms thanks for your work. The only issue ive had(28008) is the scrolling in my hotmail account has been very slow. Its great everywhere else though. I thought its was in my head but flashed Rob Storms 23511 and the scrolling was quick and easy. Anyone else have problem? Thanks again flashing 28009 now :D
Guest NilsE Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Your ROM's and Sashimi together are great.... Makes it painless upgrading when the process is easy and the ROM is great. All works good. Just two minor things. 1) Bing is reported by LBS as not being properly signed but then runs. Have not done much with it yet since I am indoors. 2) When you change the date format in Regional settings to MM/dd/yy the day of the week disappears from the lockscene
Guest NilsE Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 The only issue ive had(28008) is the scrolling in my hotmail account has been very slow. I noticed the same periodically in 28008 but seems to be fine in 28009
Guest NilsE Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 After a few minutes Bing reports that it is not compatible with this device and to install the older version then shuts down.
Guest lioryte Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 After a few minutes Bing reports that it is not compatible with this device and to install the older version then shuts down. Thanks for the feedback- Yes I had the same issue, Too bad didn't even go outside to check it's raining here. . As far as the day in clock unfortunately it's a reg hack not a .cpr change since it seems to be impossible to add any custom icons to the lockscreen. (you can replace the one's that are there, move around but not add. I keep on trying though...) I'm not so happy with the way it looks I might end up going back to day of the week .cpr (only home not lock) @rubadub234, I'm guessing it's a build issue, I don't touch anything that will cause bad scroll in one app. So with all that being said, bump for V2 no release notes it will be the same but Bingless
Guest lioryte Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 V2 "Bingless" is up and ready for download
Guest prhsni Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 A ROM a day keeps the doctor away LOL yes I can't keep up I flashed to 28008 yesterday! Rom is fast as usual and everything is working for me so far. do you have the bing version for download i know it's not working correctly i guess i'm just curious to try it out?
Guest sbpetro Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 In the short time frame that I get Bing to work it seems to be a nice program. I was able to get weather up and running along with the map feature. Much improved from the old Bing version. I hope that Omnia eventually supports Bing! Other than the Bing issue - 28009 seem to be very stable.
Guest .Ejekt Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Works fine but I can't get PocketRAR to work. It gets stuck on the "associate" panel with no option to accept. Any suggestions?
Guest .hack_infection Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Works fine but I can't get PocketRAR to work. It gets stuck on the "associate" panel with no option to accept. Any suggestions? maybe its the version ur using. just a thought. im using an older version and it works for me.
Guest .Ejekt Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 maybe its the version ur using. just a thought. im using an older version and it works for me. Mind linking me to a cab? I switched back from 3.91 to 3.8 but still no luck.
Guest lioryte Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Mind linking me to a cab? I switched back from 3.91 to 3.8 but still no luck. My WinRar is working, v3.71, just tested. BUT. Try 7Zip in post 2, looks a little less ugly and does the same. V9.07 the newest one working tested as well.
Guest bqst Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Hey everyone, Finally had a chance to flash today. Can't believe how many versions have already come and gone since last weekend! I flashed 28009v2 this afternoon, and everything is perfect so far. Adding ftouch did the trick, and touch response is now much improved (vs 28004). The only thing I may change is the touch screen calibration, as it's off by a few pixels when I test it in a drawing program (like notes). No biggie to edit the registry entry back to my personal optimums. I also tried sashimi for the first time, and it made flashing a lot easier. It takes a few minutes to learn how to use it (I watched a video on youtube), and then a couple more to actually configure it, but if you plan to flash more than once in a blue moon, it's well worth the up front effort. It auto-installed all of my usual apps in a few minutes flat, and I even got it to automatically put in some of my favorite reg edits (like enablenonlocalcrosspollination which is no fun to type every time). Btw, as a testament to how stable Lioryte's 28004 rom was, I ran it for a whole week without crashing once, which has to be a record for me and custom roms. Great work Lioryte, keep it up! -Ben

Guest NilsE Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 My screen calibration is off also. How do you edit the registry to fix this? Thanks The settings in the registry is a ballpark number found to be accurate for most screens. Unless you know your number for the reg edit the best thing to do is a screen calibration. When you are happy with it then go into the registry and write the numbers down from the "CalibrationData" entry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH] "CalibrationData"="519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872" "DownUp"=dword:000002ee "Click"=dword:000007d0 [/codebox]

Do it for every reg that you fancy like CHome for titanium panels, keys for hard button settings, etc. How to export a reg. setting? since I use Sashimi and would like all who use my ROM's to have an easy flashing experience, I cook a reg editor with all my ROMs in settings>System>RegistryEditor. Choose HKLM, hardware. Highlight and press DeviceMAP, copy it the desired location. with other applications you can use the export reg. option. Hope this helps Edited December 6, 2009 by lioryte
Guest mdkpnj Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Is scrolling in messages, either a message list or especially within a long message, better in 28009? 28008 is otherwise good and stable so that is really the only thing i'd update for. Lioryte - thanks for the great ROM's. I'd always avoided base roms before but after flashing yours a couple of weeks ago I like that I can tweak how i want. Now onto Sashimi - even though setup manually is only about 1/2 hour. I guess I've flashed enough I have it down cold. Does that make me a flashaholic?

To answer your questions going last to first. 1 Yes. Welcome to the club LOL. 2 Use Sashimi, don't you have something else to do for 1/2 an hour? Mine takes 6 min and I get to do whatever I want during that time. When it's done I have my phone exactly as I want it. 3 I think overall 28009 is a little faster than 28008, but if there are any changes to the scrolling they are minor at best. However, because you were diagnosed with "flashaholism", chances are that you will flash to a newer version regardless :D Thanks for trying my ROM

When I was using BW rom it seemed to have no affect. Thanks for the help. Hope this helps I only flash once every 2 to 3 months due to the fact that I work alot and I need my Omnia to be functional. Sashimi sounds like a great app but I like to install my apps one at a time to achieve maximum stability (used XDA_UC a few times and it never stable). Only reason I'm flashing now is I dropped my phone off a second story balcony (it was in shirt pocket while I was leaning over) and it never turned back on. Good thing I keep my important data and contacts backed up on the microSD, which I just popped out and threw it into my replacement. BTW, since BW moved on to the Droid I had to find another rom to use and your roms is a great alternative. Thank you big time for still supporting the Omnia.
