Man, I'm just having the worst luck lately with ROMs. They all eventually (after a few weeks) start getting unstable. Random lockups, won't wake. And every time, if the phone's been on a day or so, the text and e-mail programs won't load. A soft reset fixes it, but that can be inconvenient if I need to respond to a text right away.

I get the MS busy animation for about 3-5 seconds, then nothing. Tap for the e-mail or text again, same thing. Just stops.

Guess it's time to hard reset or flash to a newer version. Maybe I'll go for the Lioryte 2823x this time!

have you tried the 235xx branch?

if your going to 282xx branch go with 28223, probably the most stable. but def 235xx is the most stable branch i have used. haven't flashed since 23518. what apps are you installing? maybe its a program you use.

Latest COM 5 Branch Windows CE: 5.2 Build 4524 (March 16, 2010 15:55:51)

System info report attached, not a lot changed only BaseApps, BROWSING, BTDUN, MediaOS, Office, Shell, Webview.

AKU is 5500 23111 has a newer AKU but nothing noticeable and I know people like the threaded email of COM 5 :)

As with all latest COM 5 releases, they come with a newer version of office and so I cook it in- TellMe version

ROM Notes:

* OK Soft Key still isn't working With Settings-personal-phone-services. Map OK to a hard button

* No WMP controls with lockscreen. Still ;)

Yes. Sashimi is a mortscript app it will let you restore your phone in no time. Makisu is an xml. form to allow you to restore your email/sync settings. Unlike xda_uc it's completely automated no babysitting is needed. The mortscript had to be tweaked because there were some compatibility issues with WM 6.5.X and Sashimi as well as the beta mortscript used in my ROM.

I would strongly suggest taking the time to study Sashimi as it will make your life easier- After I flash my phone is set up as I like all tweaks and accounts included in less than 7 min without me ever touching it.

Thanks for the help, but i am using build 28230, and even when i map the ok button to a hardware button, it still doesn't close and save the settings. Just wanna change my voicemail so that it dials my code, any other ideas of how i can do this. Thanks everyone!

I include a reg editor in my ROM, but no need for that. Go to settings>personal>Buttons and map OK to camera.

Nice, after a little investigation i did find out how to deal with the cab fiels with it. VERY handy. And thanks for taking the time to scuff the surface a little with me. as yes setting up after a flash can be tasking. i will definately look more into the backup functions. I have to say i love this rom after playin with it a few hours now. i wasn't too keen on the titanium interface at first. but after doing a little "figuring out", i'm digg'n it.!

I tried using in CHome Editor > Menu > Manual Edit Item Values > CEmail > LocName... but it already says "Email" with no dash, so that's not what's showing on the Titanium home page. I swear I've done this before with another ROM, but cannot remember. I also tried looking in the registry, but that shows the same "Email" value.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello. I just bought a used Omnia on Craigslist that came loaded with Lioryte Base 23518. Looks and works great except that the videos I take with the video camera will not play. If I try to play them from the camera it just closes out to the today screen. WMP will not play them at all. TCPMP will play the video but not the audio. I'm kind of a newb and would rather avoid flashing to a newer ROM for fear of bricking. Is there a fix for this on version 23518? Thanks.

I had a version that I did using a modified kitchen that disabled the videos. I honestly don't remember which one it was but around that release time. If the phone has a custom ROM on it than you have very little to be afraid from. Update it using the steps I provide HERE you would start from step 2 having CF03 installed already. Very simple and easy. Again, we only change the PDA part while cooking so very very rarely something happens to the phone that will brick it, even if a bad flash you can always flash again.

had 23518 before.

First I would like to say thanks for recommending sashimi, amazing!

The rom is Stable, i am a throttle launcher user and it works much faster with this rom.

All around its faster, and i think the wifi is better with this rom.

didn't notice any bugs and i highly reccomend this rom, by far the best of the 235xx branch, i think it might be as fast as 28223.

Will reupdate if i notice battery life issues or such things as that.

On one rom i had using 23544 for some reason if i tried to save videos to my storage they would not play.. but if i set it to storage card it worked fine. something to try maybe

Thanks for the tip but I already have it set to save to Storage Card. Maybe I will try saving it to My Storage or Phone Storage just for a goof.

Nope doesn't matter where i save to, same problem.... I'm waiting for my usb sync cable to come in the mail from Ebay then I will upgrade to a newer version of the ROM. Is there any one version that is known to be the best and most stable and the best on battery life?

Really stupid question. I am trying to use the 6.5 widgets on the first page of this thread (i.e. Stream TV), but I cannot seem to get them to work. When I try to open the widget, I get a window that asks me to select the app. I select IE, but it never opens. I tried googling to ifnd out how to use this, but no luck. I am sure it is really easy, but I just can't get it to work. Anyone have any suggestions or a link?

The ROM comes w/u the widgets engine. You can download it at the same place where you got the widgets. Once installed, if not autoinstalling than once prompted select winwidgets or somethin' like that. Hope it helps

The 25XXX branch is different that than the 28XXX branch. Read a little further on the first post for more information on the different branches.
