Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Don't be afraid to make the jump to 23551. It's Rock-Solid! I think they made some browser improvements, IE looks better to me.
Guest gman34 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 i made the jump from 23518 to 23551 and have no regrets. much faster and stable. haven't had any lock ups but a few jams but thats because i'm a heavy user. (: use sashmi and its soooo easy to restore your phone. it makes flashing a breeze.
Guest robertjm Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 I was looking at Sashimi videos last night and had a question. Do you set up a card with all the .cabs and files and keep that as a master when you moved to the new version, or are you setting that up each and every time? Also, how are you dealing with contacts and emails? Are you backing those up separately? I wouldn't mind playing around with stuff if Sashimi is as easy to use and restore stuff as Lioryte's video makes it look. Guest Phxchristian Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Looks like I forgot to patch the timebomb in 23518... I'll be posting a cab file with the patch on Sunday. Thanks so much! I really love your clean ROM's and wouldn't think of reflashing my phone. The only thing I wish you would do is change your default themes to built-in Microsoft or designer themes. I personally like WMBHTC_Autumn_Shadow or WMBHTC_Shadowline. Also installed WM7 Titanium project. Would recommend it to be included in your ROM's. I am truly happy with this ROM over 6.1 CF03 any day! -Christian Jesperson
Guest tom999 Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Pandora works for me. If you can't use the keyboard, i think the copy/paste functionality worked for me (it has been awhile since i have had to login). As for GPS, Amaze has worked great for me. Try getting a lock with google maps first. Once you do, amaze should lock on with no problems. Make sure you have the settings set correctly in amaze for your gps. I have the same problem with Pandora. Cut and paste is not active on it either. ??

Robert you set up the sashmi file in one storage card or even my storage, but storage card is recommended. The .cab and the whole setup never disappears so you can use it multiple times and you can even add too it so it's always up to date and whenever you need to reflash you are ready to go. I use active sync to back up contacts and emails, you can use myphone or pim backup as well, i use the later to back up my text messages and backup of a backup just in case lol. I highly recommend pim backup, very easy and fast just don't forget to save the backup file somewhere where it doesn't get deleted by the flashing process...
Guest pnpman Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 V23551 with TellMe, MS Voice and Office 2010 cooked in Thanks for the rom. It seems to be much more responsive than the default verizon build. Now i've done my program installations. I don't want to have to reinstall several games on my storage card that don't require an install but will run fine from the previous install. I don't have my data cable as i'm away from home. I'm trying to create a link (shortcut) to games that are installed on my storage card. Any way to do that using only the device? I tried copy path hoping i could maneuver to the start menu\games folder and do a paste. However whenever i do the copy path if i tap the folder drop down menu the file explorer locks ups EVERYTIME. Anyone actually been able to use copy path? What does it do? I would think there would be a create shortcut in the file explorer context menu with a browse to target. Ms must of figured we would never try to actually customize i device. Any help would be appreciated.

Guest tom999 Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Could the "Keyboard auto pop disabled" setting in this ROM be what I need "on" to type text in the Pandora log in box? * This ROM has Etiquette, AutoRotate and Keyboard auto pop disabled set as default on startup. Can someone tell me where to find this setting so I can try it? I cannot find this. Thanks. tm

Thanks. tm [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip] "TurnOffAutoDeploy"=dword:00000001 Change 1 to 0 Don't think this is what's causing issues, all it does is stopping the keyboard to auto popup when you open texts and emails
Guest lioryte Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 any chance of a new 23554 build today No need to, the package didn't have our res I'd have to use 23551. I see no major changes office, ie seems to be updated
Guest unlazyfree Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 so I have 23518 from Lioryte and I got a message the other day saying something like This version of windows mobile is going to expire in 30 days I'm assuming the time nuke wasn't disabled in this version (from what I've read about ROMs and this message) Does the latest 23551 for sure have this disabled? I don't want to have to flash my phone only to have to do it again a couple months down the road

If it works, you can change the mapping of the buttons back.

Guest mcmilliron Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Hey Lioryte Did you put up the time bomb patch or are we 23518 users going to need to upgrade? I was thinking about checking out the 23551 build but I'm wondering how much better it is? 23518 has been super stable but I do loath how long it takes most apps to open. Does 23551 change this? Can someone tell me the main differences between 23518 and 23551? I use my phone for business so good exchange support is a must. I also use Mobile Shell and need to know if it works on 23551? Thanks again for your great work
Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Just take the plunge, 23551 is fine. This forum isn't as busy as it used to be, but sometimes NO news is GOOD news. If the ROM was buggy, the post count would be way up!

Thanks again for your great work Well I tried but the ROM rejects it for some reason. So I have no fix for this. All ROMs require maintenance. Once you flash you'll be amazed at how fast everything runs. after that just keep the phone clean :P I don't remember the what was new with 518 but 551 is newer and better. Everything that worked on 23518 will should work on 23518.
Guest lioryte Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 OK- I'd like to thank everyone who are/were using my ROMs but I'll be taking a break now, I don't feel that I can provide timely support and so I will be updating on a very irregular bases. This community still has wonderful chefs with great knowledge such as waremike and hartv427, I recommend any newer version ROM they put out. Again, I'll be posting every now and than and will try to assist when time provides. I still got the i910 'till Aug. 12...

Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Lioryte, Thanks and good luck. By the end of the year, we all will have moved on. I don't know what I'm getting, we'll see what Big Red is dishing out by then. Until then, I just have to tell myself, "Hey, your phone still works, don't it?" Yes it does, Thanks Again!
