Guest Wongway Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 aww... Thank you again for your ROMs. Yours were my favorite of them all. Many thanks, and a lot of appreciation!
Guest rfarrah Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 OK- I'd like to thank everyone who are/were using my ROMs but I'll be taking a break now, I don't feel that I can provide timely support and so I will be updating on a very irregular bases. This community still has wonderful chefs with great knowledge such as waremike and hartv427, I recommend any newer version ROM they put out. Again, I'll be posting every now and than and will try to assist when time provides. I still got the i910 'till Aug. 12... It's the end of an era. Thanks for all your hard work! See you on the other side - whatever device that may be.
Guest unlazyfree Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Well I tried but the ROM rejects it for some reason. So I have no fix for this. All ROMs require maintenance. Once you flash you'll be amazed at how fast everything runs. after that just keep the phone clean :P I don't remember the what was new with 518 but 551 is newer and better. Everything that worked on 23518 will should work on 23518. so the newest ROM has the time bomb still in it? What's that program you can install so it automatically installs all your cabs when you flash your phone? can I still do that before I flash my phone to the newest version?

Guest robertjm Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Lioryte will have to confirm for sure, but I think it still does. What's funny is that I haven't received the warning msg in a few days, even though I didn't dismiss the msg the last time, and I haven't updated anything lately. I think the program you're asking about is Sashimi. I'm actually going through and trying to set mine up right now as well, in preparation of flashing to another ROM without the time bomb in it. Lioryte has a YouTube Channel which has a video of his reinstalling his programs using Sashimi. Also, you should check out the WinMo Experts Channel as well, as they have several video tutorials on using Sashimi. Hope that helps. Robert so the newest ROM has the time bomb still in it? Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 THIS IS THE OMNIA BOMB SQUAD! CUT THE RED WIRE! NO, I MEANT THE BLUE ONE! 23518 was the only ROM affected, you could reflash in less time than you waste spreading false rumors of doom and gloom. The new ROM is fine. Please let us not speak further about bombs. whew!!!
Guest unlazyfree Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 (edited) is there a way to fix this without flashing? Edited April 8, 2010 by unlazyfree
Guest jlc0005 Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 is there a way to fix this without flashing? When I read Lioryte's Post (#1546) on Page 78, he said he "forgot to patch the timebomb in 23518". I believe that he does patch most of his ROMS during the cooking process. Chances are, if you flash to one of the newer ROMs, you won't have to worry about this issue again. Good luck.
Guest robertjm Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Whose spreading false rumors Steve? I responded to the guy's question and still stand by my attempt answer his question. However, the confusion probably stems from the multiple threads (because of multiple ROMS that are posted). Liortye posted a v3 of the "stock" ROM. The question was did THAT ONE still have the time bomb, to which I replied yes, I thought it did. Perhaps the only mistake both myself and the previous poster did was posting in the 23551 thread vis a vie the 23518 thread. (which has been renamed the 23551 Stock thread BTW, so v3 of the stock ROM has been fixed) Robert THIS IS THE OMNIA BOMB SQUAD! CUT THE RED WIRE! NO, I MEANT THE BLUE ONE! 23518 was the only ROM affected, you could reflash in less time than you waste spreading false rumors of doom and gloom. The new ROM is fine. Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 Sorry if I got upset, but the fact that Lioryte made an honest mistake 11 or 12 ROMs ago, can you guys please cut him some slack? He said he tried to fix it, but he couldn't. So he made you a newer and better one. Enjoy!
Guest neosrt Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I dont know but the Internt panel in your MD2 cab lio doesnt activate internet browsers Internet Explorer or Opera or youtube button also doesnt do anything all these are installed but cannot be activated from the MD2 cab google map seacrh tab icon blinks no seacrh happens camera text at startup "loading" overlaps and is too large using touchflo2.0.1919.1432 build 28230.5.3.3
Guest geekboy2005 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I know lioryte is taking a break but is there going to be any newer roms with the dc22 samsung update coming other chefs are working on it but I always seem to come back to this one
Guest Stevenlomb Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Neosrt, For M2D tweaks, use a program called M2DC. I'm attaching the .cab. Otherwise, the default browser for M2D is Opera 9.5 M2DC_v0.29.235.CAB

It just got released yesterday - well ok, Friday night, but still... I also agree wholeheartedly with the coming back to lioryte's roms. Hopefully see one before the end of the month, but otherwise and more probable is I'll be moving to a new Incredible phone. No one understands why I've been sitting on this i910 patiently waiting for Android sans keyboard. They just don't get us Omnians.

Guest robertjm Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) I'm with you on that one! And according to Phandoid.com VZW is set to make the announcment on the Incredible tomorrow sometime. My concern with the HTC Incredible seems to be a general problem with ALL Android phones. Namely, the lack of TRUE handsfree support where you can start a call by hitting the lousy button on your bluetooth headset. How HTC and Motorola can list Headset and HFP support in their specs, yet the OS doesn't support using those profiles is a little beyond my understanding, especially with many states here in the US making it illegal to even breath on the face of the phone while driving. Guest mcmilliron Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Hey, Does anyone know how to uninstall the Manilla2D cab? I can't seem to uninstall it. I tied removing it through Remove Programs but it just hangs with the status wheel spinning infinitely. I would like to try Manilla2d but it seemed really buggy (browser and Youtube not opening, and the weather on home screen not working). Do any of you know of any fully functional Manilla2d cab's floating around that work with Lioryt's 23551 Rom. Also, is there any way to remove some of the "screens/tabs" from Touchflo. It's a pain to swipe across all those tabs to get to the one you want. I would only use about 4 of them. Thanks

You can remove tabs, rearrange them, set your default browser, etc... Have Fun!
Guest printing724 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Upgraded from Lioryte 23518 to 23551 to have avoid the "timebomb", no issues. Damn, I like this phone, will hate to give it up. This was my first smartphone. Since I'm an engineer, it's part of my job to stay up with technology. What an adventure this has been! Samsung/Verizon had an opportunity big enough to drive a Mack truck thru and didn't see it. The basic Omnia I910 came with a bunch of software that no one needed, cared about, and couldn't get rid of. Best example I have seen of a great piece of hardware saddled with lousy software in a long time. I almost gave it up. To the rescue come the ROM chefs, doing what Samsung/Verizon should have seen as necessary. Without the budget. If Samsung/Verizon had provided a means for the "average" end user to accomplish what the members of this forum have been doing all along...all it would have taken is a CD with a user friendly version of the UMDL on it...the world as we know it might be different, and windows mobile might not be on its deathbed... Android is likely in the future but I will not forget what the Omnia experience and community taught me in my first smartphone adventure. This is my thanks to the chefs (Wozzzer, Adrynalyne, Shokka, and finally Lioryte) who made my i910 the handy thing that it is.

I haven't had to reset my phone since my last flash 2 months ago. Great hardware coupled with great software that nails core scenarios is a major win. I am so happy I found the work here on these forums to keep this phone a joy to use every day.
Guest SuzukiDan Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Can anyone who has used 28223 comment on how it compares to 23551? I've been quite happy with 28223 but would like to know if I am missing out on anything.
