Thanks, I read the patch info and.. don't really see anything worth upgrading - or in our cases, downgrading for. Am I missing anything? Sounds like I should just stick with 28223 or something like it?

Well, it's not a downgrade. The CF03 that your current 28223 build uses is also WM6.1. You'll most likely flash to a new ROM compatible with this version. That's what I did, anyway.

I'm using 23551 and I just noticed that I am unable to play .pls files using GSPlayer. I have been able to do this with the other ROMS that i've tried. is there something missing from this base ROM that would allow streaming .pls files?

So I've been playing with the M2D cab and I've decided it's not for me. The only problem is, it wont uninstall and it's taking up a nice chunk of my memory. Do any of you know how to uninstall it? When I try to remove it through remove programs all I get is the Windows status wheel spinning round and round and round and round and it never stops. When I reboot my phone M2D is still there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Same thing happened to me. I had to do a hard reset. I use SPB MS3 and am much happier.

I have SPB Mobile Shell 3 installed and I wonder if that's why I can't uninstall M2D.

I definitely prefer SPB and if you install Change Skins cab you can make it look like M2D anyway. M2D takes twice as long as SPB to get to the desired screen. I should have just stuck with my trusted MS3.

Looks like I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and flash again. I was hoping to avoid it because I just flashed it before installing M2D. ;)

Do any of you MS3 users have problems with the MMS alert counter not clearing from time to time? It seems like it gets stuck after 3 or 4 MMS messages hit my inbox. I would like to know if this is a Windows issue or a SPB issue

Thanks for the info

I dont have that problem with the MMS counter. I am on MS3.5, perhaps you are still on MS3.0??

Also, You don't have to reflash, just do a hard reset.

I don't have SPB MS3 or whatever, but with just the 28223 base my MMS counter is always saying I have 1 new message but there isnt any, I clear my inbox and it still says I have 1 new msg.. it says "0 msgs, 1 unread" lol DURRR..

I downloaded this program from XD forum or something to clear the new msg count but it only clears it temporarily, as soon as I get a new MMS or EMAIL it comes back... I've just gotten used to seeing 1 false new msg as I cannot figure out how to get rid of it! Really not in the mood to reflash just to fix that one issue..

do it. or hard reset. 28223 is good. but 23551 is worth the jump. no issues. but be aware that dc22 is a new update as well... so once new roms start rolling out they will all be in dc22 and you have to reflash to that then to your 6.5 rom. just giving you a heads up.

For whatever it is worth: Seeing that DC22 is a maintenance release with minor changes, I was a glutton for punishment and flashed it and then used the latest Lioryte 23551 with tellme...It is working flawlessly and the phone volume is improved. PocketMechanic will not work but everything else has worked without issue. Obviously there is some level of chance involved but, if anyone else has done this, they may want to pipe up. 2 days so far without a hiccup

I Really like Lioryte's ROMs. But any chef would probably be able to explain why you wouldn't want to flash a CF03 rom over a DC22 updated phone. I'm NOT a chef, but until Lio gets back in the game, I would recommend a DC22 NuROM for you. I just checked, it does have TellMe.

+1

waiting for lioryte's "official" base roms for dc22

still at 28205 w/ TellMe &Voice & Office ... still going strong - been most stable and fast... ;)

Thanks Lioryte for sharing and hope you come back soon....

Thank you both and to an extent I agree. But....I am not really sure the CF03/DC22 issue really matters. These updates affect both phone and PPC parts of the omnia. The chefs ROMs only affect the PPC part. Their ROMs are so different from the original WM 6.1 ROM that it seems moot. The original CF03 was necessary as it unlocked the GPS. The DC22 is only a maintenance release that fixed the phone and adjusted some software settings. That being said...who do you think (of our remaining chefs) could answer the question?

On the hybrid of dc22 and Lioryte's last ROM....still perfect....

They are upgrading some markets of verizon that require a few tweaks. So it may seem stable to you right now but when they release the software update on the verizon towers, you may run into trouble.

In the beginning, I always followed Adrynaline, and really liked his ROMs. And if I stayed with his last work, I'd be rockin' 23064. But we had to move on... And Lioryte carried the torch, took us farther along, until he told us his journey was through...

And if nobody was cooking with DC22, we would all be on some kind of hybrid (more than we already are).

And as a big fan of 28205 (best for the longest), I still think it's time to move on.

Of the remaining chefs, I think Waremike has been around the longest. And although I'm not totally comfortable cheering for another chef on Lioryte's thread, I'm sure Lioryte would agree (to some extent) that the torch has already been passed. Unless...

Touching and all, but I ain't dead yet ;) nor have I switched phones. I still got the i910 to Aug, it's just that I ain't got time to play around with anything right now. That, and my computer got some issues :'(

I said before, I RECOMMEND waremike's and hart's ROMs (If hart will ever cook one). They have great kitchens, knowledge, and will provide support if needed. IDK when and if I'll have time to play with my kitchen I do apologize for it, but even this reply is written through the Omnia (computer issues ;) )

woo - hooo!

glad to see your still on the ball! ;) (...at least till August :P ) no apologies necessary.

we understand family and life get in the way ... hope you snap out of it already there's alot of flashaholics going thru withdrawal.... hey just kidding bro.

i for one will wait for your DC22 titanium base version - i got till mid 2011 before I can use my e2 upgrade :P

your stable and fast rom is my base line and little things like the day and next apointment are deal breakers for me... maybe it's just me. I'll hang on to your 28205 untill my omnia dies or changes in verizon service forces me to flash DC22.

lioryte thanks again for sharing

Just like to report that somehow on the home screen using M2D, the weather has randomly started working as of yesterday, aka it has detected my location without me having to fool around with the registry. I'm afraid to soft reset ever again.

i'd like to report a bug where sometimes i'm reading a message, and i hit x and it jams on the message screen for about a minute sometimes. but most of the time it's fine. this is with latest 23551.

anyone else have this issue?

Is there a way to map a hardware button to blank the screen? I don't mean like hitting the power button on top of the device because that will invoke the lock screen when I turn it back on. I mean more like the function in Nitrogen Player that just blanks the screen. Thanks

I answered this question for you over here (sorry for link to another site)

http://www.omniamods.com/board/viewtopic.p...mp;p=4409#p4409

However, I answered it like you were on my ROM so it may not apply if you are on Lioryte's ROM

Either way, you need to turn off the lock on stand-by option for the screen lock and the tap of the power button will do what you ask
