Guest lioryte Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Any chance we'll be seeing an M2D ROM? :D :P :P ...Please? :) .Ejekt, LOL when did you ever get a M2D ROM from me? There's a M2D .cab file in post 2, it takes forever to install but works as it should. It's easy to customize as well. I won't make it. I'm not a fan of M2D, It uses to much resources and I get what I need from Titanium which is finger friendly. Sorry bud B) Flashed last night! Thanks for the nice clean ROM update Lioryte! I overheard a friend raving about all the things they could do with their Android (Evo) and I'm thinking "my Omnia does all these things". Didn't have the heart to tell him. I'll move to an Android eventually but after the dust and prices settle down. t Thanks, I agree, If the GPS+Screen weren't as F up as they are I would use this phone until it would die. Too bad WM is at a dead end :D
Guest tedkord Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 (edited) Man, great to see you're still pumping out ROMs, Lioryte. I've been waiting since your last ROM for something worth flashing - you and Evidence/BGILL were my favorite chefs (with all due deference to Wozzer, without whom we'd still be skating on 6.1). You guys just made ROMs that worked, and with all else being equal, that's what's most important. Unfortunately, this came about a 2 weeks late...I bought a new Omnia II off Ebay (don't want to renew my contract with VZW, as I'm PO'ed they're forcing data plans on any phone with a decent keyboard and large screen - I don't want my daughter having internet access, I just want her to have a good texter) Also, I'm a little burned that Sling is not allowing me to transfer my WM license to an Android phone, something I was told I would be able to do when I first bought SPM. The Omnia was a good phone. The chefs here made it great. But the O2 (and other newer phones) just make it look old. I did a side by side with both the other day - I never realized how dim, dull and low res the Omnia would look next to the i920. The digitizer is almost capacative quality. My Omnia needed my fingernail with some pressure to swipe - the O2 takes just the slightest touch of my finger tip. The Omnia II isn't really any more functional than a tricked out Omnia with one of the great ROMs cooked here - it's just clearer, prettier. The Omnia does everything the O2 does, just not with quite as much ease or style. (Oh, and the GPS lock is MUCH quicker, though that seemed to vary quite a lot with Omnia owners, so I probably just had one on the bad end of the curve) And, the cooking is really starting to pick up over in the O2 modaco forum! They've got HTC Sense ported (I never thought I'd replace SPB MS3 as my Today GUI, but Sense is all over it) And cooking there is still in the early stages (they've got some handicaps that the i910 didn't have due to the UMDL tool being available. If it weren't for Wozzer cracking the DC23 update, we'd still be stuck stock) I can't imagine what this phone will be like when they get to the level you guys achieved here! (I guess what I may be saying, subconsciously, is please get an Omnia II, and come over and improve it!) Thanks for all your work (all chefs). You took a crippled, hobbled phone like the Omnia, performed major surgery and made it fly. Edited July 9, 2010 by tedkord

Guest tom999 Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 (edited) Flashed to DC22 - all good but I can't access the ringtones. There are a bunch listed under the phone setup but it says they are missing or currupted (I only expected there to be one ring tone). I see some tones in the program directory but I can't get the phone to access them. Anyone else have this issue and know how to fix it? Thanks! tom ps. I agree with the above, I like the look of MD2 but it's not at all finger friendly. I'll stick to Titanium Edited July 10, 2010 by tom999

What you need to do is make a folder My Storage/My Ringtones and set them there. Once there you'll have access to them.

(: i just like the square seamless buttons, and how everything highlights in green. cant say i wouldnt like to see green buttons with a darker bg though (: Already tried editing the .XML to the BLG_softkeybar but everything got all funky. Guest rubadub234 Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 Bump for 23128 Only problem I have had with 23670, is the scrolling within emails. I did have a problem with that many roms ago. Other than that, as solid as ever. Thanks

Guest Amtrak23 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Flashed to DC22, from a very old Blazingwolf rom. Only cab installed in Fingerkeyboard, which is working terribly. When in landscape mode I can't get any of the buttons (start, contacts, set) to work. Start is basically impossible to "hit", the others I can get after several tries. Fingerkb works ok in the center of the screen but the letters around the outside seem to be way off. Same when its vertical. I have tried aligning the screen several times with no improvement. Is there something else I can align, or another setting somewhere I'm missing? Tried formatting/hard reset a few times...no dice on any improvement.

Guest Amtrak23 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Which FK version are you using? FingerKeyb-2.1-WQVGA[1].cab....from the cab section

It has been fast and rock solid for the last few days, Thanks!! However, you mention Bing and Google Maps above, but the build number doesn't seem to have changed. Wait a minute, there is a _V1 after the file name now. Are there any other improvements in V1? Thanks again!
Guest The Eleven Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Only problem I have had with 23670, is the scrolling within emails. I did have a problem with that many roms ago. Other than that, as solid as ever. Thanks Love the new ROM, but I am experiencing this same problem with the scrolling in emails. Also, I downloaded the new Bing and there's no extension on it. I haven't been playing with my phone for the past few months during your absence, so I've forgoten what I need to do to make it work. Please help me out. Thanks.

Thanks again! Look in post 2 GPS>Bing I uploaded V5.1.2010 which is the latest one GPS>I uploaded GoogleMaps V4.1 which is the latest one as well Not sure about which bing/ google map files you are talking about though, so plz lemmie know so i can fix it. As far as BING I love it and this is a great app for me - Supporting BT I can do voice searches now which is better for me since I drive a lot Love the new ROM, but I am experiencing this same problem with the scrolling in emails. Also, I downloaded the new Bing and there's no extension on it. I haven't been playing with my phone for the past few months during your absence, so I've forgoten what I need to do to make it work. Please help me out. Thanks. OK I have no idea why the email scroll will be different here than with any other ROM, FTouch.dll is the same for all i910 ROMs... But since the issue did come up I've build 23128 with the modifications from CF03 that I did, I'll upload it shortly I just saw that I loaded bing and googlemaps as is, so you need to add .cab to them, but to be sure I'm uploading it now in .7z format. Thanks for that!
Guest lioryte Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Post 2 Updated, bing and google maps are in .7z format but ain't showing for some reason. In any way, I would like to encourage everyone to try it out- It was working great for me the i910 ain't got that many quality FREE turn-by-turn voice navigation apps with speech recognition :) Also, 23128 is up and running but nothing to report about that is missing from 23670... I'm working on adding procedures to the kitchen and getting a little more memory space while making the ROM faster, getting good results with the experiments, I'll implement it to the next release
Guest tom999 Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Lioryte - thanks for the heads up on Bing and GoogleMaps (and the ROM of course!). Much appreciated! With little time dig around it helps when someone points you to a good app or updates. Along that line if anyone has recommendations for a replacement for iDialer please let me know. I used to love that app but I lately it's been mixing up my contacts. Thanks. tom

Sorry never used it I use the stock dialer and so I relay heavily on BT voice and TellMe...Looking at their site it looks like it's still developing-http://www.supware.net/iDialer/ Try THIS or maybe ask the developer of govomo to make a WQVGA version... Good Luck
