Lioryte,

Love your work. You'll never be all things to all people. You ARE the best chef working on the Omnia platform right now (IMHO). Keep up the great work. 11

lol, thanx, I think that at the moment I am the only chef working on the i910, I'll keep it up for as long as I have the phone...

Hi lioryte,

Thanks for all your great work. I noticed that it is not as easy to scroll email as before. I was wondering if you might have time to make a com5 version for DC22? I thought that was smoother and the conversation viewwas really nice.

Thanks. Yes I'm working on porting threaded+ Fixing to/cc issue of 23128. I'll try to make it- I'll have to port com5 so this might take me a while to do

Does anyone have any suggestions on the screen lock while in a call. I have fat @$$ chipmunk cheeks that always press buttons during a call. I tried the auto locker and way to sofisticated settings for me to figure out....

Suggestions anyone... The stock one worked great in 6.1... not that I'm going back anytime soon... :(

Check out post 2 under phone/dialer lock

try auto call locker its working for me, phone goes to the ear it autolocks

Just flashed to 23128 and (almost) everything is working great. I installed the M2D2 cab and everything went swimmingly. My only complaint is that the weather on the home tab of M2D is not displaying anything. It says "Your Town" and "Sunny" with no temp. Any way to fix this?

Lioryte,

Thanks for resuming work on your ROMs again. I have liked yours the best so far of all that I've tried. Keep up the good work. I was set to flash to your 23128, but see that the email scrolling may not be that smooth? I'll wait to see if you can fix this before I flash. Thanks for the work to keep us lowly Omnia users plodding along!

Post 1 updated with a TellMe, Office and Voice with build 23563

Build 23563 isn't the last COM5 build, 23569 is. I chose this build because it comes from a Da_G rollup, has a native voice command and was the only build I could find that wasn't messed with (VK ready/ WQVGA ready, etc-) :(

* From what it looks like the branch known as COM 5 has reached its end with 23569.

* This ROM was build with OSKitchen 1.31.beta5, so I still using my tool to resize the .PNG files.

* Attached is the Sys Report for the common folder

Hi Lioryte,

Thanks for cooking a com 5, I've always like that branch best. I stayed with your 23551 for a long time, and didn't even flash to DC22 until you made 23128.

The email is certainly more responsive, but it clicks/beeps when scrolling. In fact, it does it on file explorer, too. I also noticed that when I pull up a menu, the original list will scroll instead of the menu. For example, take a look at a long list of files in file explorer, then hold for a context menu, if you try to scroll down the new menu, the file explorer list is what moves instead.

And a question: have you noticed decreased battery life on DC22? It used to make it to 16-18 hours under CF03, but I'm finding I need to plug in by 11-12 hours. I haven't really noticed a difference in call quality, so I'm thinking of switching back to CF03 and your old reliable 23551.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thank you for the feedback

For some reason it looks like ftouch isn't responding and we got the old samsung touch engine back- hence clicking in scrolling. I like it since while driving it's better for me- it keeps on scrolling. I'll look into it since I am the only one liking it...

As far as battery life, I don't really know, since I need the GPS working I have GPS Keep Alive on and so I keep the phone charged all day-

But the phone is old, battery ain't as good as it once was and it was never really great to begin with.

Again, thanx for the feedback

Great rom! I lost my original omnia and just recently purchased a used one on eBay. Glad to see you are still making roms.

A note on battery life, I have been finding it impossible to get through a full day on a single charge. With my old omnia before the DC22 update, I could make it pretty much a full day, 7 am to 10 or 11 pm, without any trouble. I'm not sure if this is DC22 related or if its just due to the batteries that I have being old/used, but I can only get from 7 am to 4 or 5 pm and then I start getting the low battery notification.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing, right after upgrading to DC22, so I suspect it is that. I haven't noticed an improvement in call quality, so I might try going back to CF03 and see if my battery lasts longer then.

I have a request.....I know, I million of them. This one is easy and not....Here's the story and you can choose to say yes or no. Regardless, love your ROM's and am ever so pleased you are back doing this stuff. So, the story...

You left for a bit but made your OEM stuff available so someone else could try to port it into newer ROMs. I grabbed it and started to play using OSkitchen. Everyone was saying that it was great (OSkitchen) but I was not doing so great. I was unable to get your OEM into the DC22 ROM. The closest I got was a boot into a corrupted video display. So here's the request. If I give you details on what I am doing, would you be willing to critique it and tell me what I was doing wrong?

Right now I am using 23128 and am quite happy but would love to play with this stuff. Thank you for your time

So for the last 2 days have been trying to fix the FTouch not taking in 23653 but no luck so far I am narrowing down the issue...Since it looks like COM 5 is done and it's unknown at the moment if any other branch will get native threaded email I would like to have this issue fixed... I'll update as I go

I'm pretty sure you meant "23563" right? What is the difference between 23563 and 23670? I found the post addressing the difference between 23670 and 23128, but not 23563. Is 23563 the "most polished and closest to your CF03 standards" now (or will be when you figure out the ftouch bug)?

Thanks for the work!

lol yea 23563

23563 is COM5 (Threaded email) While 23670 doesn't have it it's a branch that is designed for LG but works OK on our i910.

23563 works OK no issues other than FTouch engine not taking in emails and WM default menu- hence the samsung default engine (I have to admit I love it I might end up bringing it back I drive a lot and it's scrolling better for me- true kinetic scrolling. 23128 is good but as a build has a defect meaning that the reply button isn't working correctly. I'm testing to see why FTouch isn't taking with this build. Might be the build itself, or the new beta modified kitchen i use or (most likely) something I am doing. Overall it's working for me I use 23563 and using the phone for business so I need it at 100%...waiting for a new build...

Sounds like there aren't any real issues with 23563 other than with the scrolling. I can't say that I remember what the default scrolling was for Samsung. Is it just that it keeps going after giving it a flick until you stop it? That might not be too bad.

I've also read that people are having a lot of trouble with battery life in DC22. Have you noticed any drop in battery life? I know that you drive around a lot with the GPS and have it plugged in quite a bit. You must have it unplugged sometimes too? Does it appear to use battery more?

in the latest rom i have noticed that when replying to a sms, when you press the reply to button and it takes you the inbox to pick what you want to reply to it is best to tap that txt directly instead of using the reply to in this screen. In my experience pressing it here brings up a preview screen of the message that you cannot edit just read. Hitting the reply to button on this screen takes you to a blank compose mail screen.

However, using the reply to button on the today screen and pressing the txt you want to reply to specifically takes me to the appropriate reply to screen.

I also must add that it seems to not like this workaround the first time so whenever you see that uneditable preview of your text screen just go back to the today screen-hit reply and then click the message you are replying to specifically.

This workaround does not work on the previous ones

I just flashed after about 8months with blazingWolf's MS cf03 with 23128, so far it seems great, I've gotten everything to work that I normaly use, Gps,music, videos but it seems everytime I flash one of my emails addresses never wants to setup right, normally works it self out in a few days tho.

Thanks for the work lioryte!

quick question whats the difference in 23128 and com5, im downloading (com5) anyway but wanted to know what to look forward too.

edit:Does anyone have info on getting Swype working with this rom? I installed a copy I found but the keyboard is all askew..

No Issues for me with 23563. I made myself a ROM with the default touch.dll (Samsung default scroll engine) and I'm a happy camper, I get more control IMO .vs FTouch.dll, thinking about leaving it like this in future builds...

I haven't noticed any serious battery change, about the same from here (sucks with Default, CC20, CF03 and now with DC20) :)

Glad you like it, I miss BW. Didn't get the email issue- but if it works itself out it's an issue outside the ROM. Diff between builds is mostly the default mail client. Settings are more friendly and there is threaded email (in 23563). Rest of the changes are almost non existent. 23128 has a bug in the build if you use the reply icon it won't autofill the to: name. I have a workaround it for SMS but not for emails so far.

First, would like to thank you for sharing your hard work with the rest of us.

Second, I just flashed to whatever your latest ROM was, 23670? that sound right? I had been using BlazingWolf's rom which was a super gigantic improvement over the crappy Omnia's last firmware revision.

I don't know if I did something wrong or what, but I have ringtones listed, but when I try to sample ANY of them, they are corrupt or unavailable.

I can drag them onto my laptop and play them just fine in Winamp, and even tried putting them back, but I still get the same error message, "the ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable. please choose a different ring tone".

I am not very savvy or knowledgeable with Windows mobile, so I wouldn't even know where they are supposed to go. As it stands, they're in the Windows root directory.

Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated!

This brings up a good question that I believe has been touched on before in other places. Is there an opinion on whether or not it is better to flash back to regular CF03 before flashing to DC22 in the whole process of eventually flashing to a spectacular Lioryte rom? Could this be the source of some of the problems that people have been having with DC22? I don't have a great understanding of this whole flashing process in regards to the phone side, but it seems to me that some people have mentioned that it won't upgrade to DC22 well unless you go back to straight CF03 first?

I asked this same question many posts prior and Lioryte indicated that even if you have a custom CF03 ROM, you were already on CF03, so no need to reflash with CF03. I updated from one of Lioryte's CF03 ROMs to DC22 with VZW's program without any issue. Almost immediately after the update to DC22, I updated to Lioryte's 23670 (DC22) and have been running fine since.

I think many issues come up when people restore programs or settings from certain programs that overwrite other important files / settings.

Thanks again, Lioryte!

Thanks for the help. Out of curiosity, why did you go with 23670 instead of 23563? Does 23670 have the strange behavior regarding menus not scrolling correctly that was mentioned in this post:

http://www.modaco.com/content-page/292875/...ool/page/1786/#

Do you like 23670?
