Beware of seller laurayang1978.

I bought a phone back in august and it was defective . I contacted the seller and

they told me to contact Samsung USA which I did; they told me that as the phone was not in USA yet, I had to try somewhere else.

after recontacting the seller they said to contact the samsung center in singapore that I tried to contact for over a week with no answer. After contacting them again they said that I could send the phone back to them insured with a tracking number and they would have it repaired, but if it was a problem caused by me I had to pay to have it shipped back too.

I spent another 40$ to ship it back.

The phone was defective and took them about 10 days to let me know that a replacement was ready, but they would send it normal mail no insurance at all, so if I wanted to have it insured and shipped fast I had to pay extra for it.

No other choice there that to pay for shipping the phone back too.

The shipping took longer than expected too because they forgot to put some documentation in the box so it was delayed at the custom for 4 extra days. Finally 2 days ago I get the phone back and I can see right away that it is a refurbished one, starting from the fact that some of the accessories came without any plastic wrapper. the headset has dust in it and you can hear noise when adjusting the volume. More important the phone it is sluggish and freezes all the time.

I contacted them again about that and they deny that it is a refurbished one and they simply told me to contact the samsung center in singapore.

I have to add to this the fact that the first time they sent me a power charger with european plug and I had to buy an adaptor for that. so when I sent the phone back asked to send me a USA plug; they said that the phone did not come with USA plug but they could send me an adaptor. They did not and the phone that they sent back to me had a charger with a Great Britain plug. Great, I had to buy another adaptor.

This whole process has been a nightmare for me.

Probably now I will try to flash the rom with a newer one and hope everyhting goes all right.

To have 2 defective phones in a row it is bad luck, but the seller did not care at all after taking the money,

so, again, beware of this seller laurayang1978 from Ebay.

My best advice to you if you want to buy this phone

is to wait untill some cellular providers in your country imports them.

so if you have a problem it can be fixed right there.

But I am never going to buy overseas and especially from this people.

Hi,

I got my Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 from this seller earlyy Aug 09 and had no problems with delivery (took about 6 days to the UK) also had great communications with the seller. As for the phone I have not had any problems with it.

Hope you manage to resolve your problems.

I bought my Omnia II from the same seller. I emailed via ebay to ask him a question and he sent a paypal invoice with a slightly lower than ebay listed pice.

Since I had a one two many drinks that night, it didn't coour to me that this would be a transaction outside of ebay. I paid the invoice via paypal and then I suddenly realized that this could be a serious mistake. However, the Fedex dilivery arrived 2 days later and the box was shrink wrapped although the actual seals were broken (many in this forum report the same broken seal). But the phone was new everything seemed to be untouched.

Although it turned out to be OK, this was a mistake which I will not repeat. Never trust an ebay seller who offers to sell things outside of ebay.

Wow... I don't know what to say, but you really have had a sucky experience. I also bought from LauraYang and had to send the phone back just over a week after receiving it as the motherboard went bums up. A week later, I got my phone back from Singapore all fixed (yay).

I know what you mean by contacting the service centre in Singapore. It took me a full three days and several attempts at their automated response system. In the end, they just said I could send it back and I have to pay for postage there and back. So, I decided to go with LauraYang.

All in all, this was a better eBay experience for me (in regards to returns and fixes). In the past, people haven't cared less about my problems after the sale. However, there are still many things I am suss about, esp the broken seals on the box.

But in the end, my phone is back and fixed (which cost me about $50 in postage). Fingers crossed it will continue that way. If it breaks again I will be taking it to the Australian service centre as they finally be trained up!

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Let us all know if they rom flashing works! I hope it does!

I also bough the Omnia I8000 from Singapore through ebay and had it shipped all the way to Denmark. I bought the phone from the seller mobilehubsg and was honestly a little worried if I would receive the ordered goods. However, I was pleasantly surprised and received a very good service. Fast replies to my questions and quick delivery through Fedex. I ordered the phone on Aug-22 and received it on Aug-26. At least this supplier I would recommend.

But I have had no problems with my I8000 until now. The situation with this seller might be very different if warranty service is needed since this means inconvenience and added costs to the seller. I just hope I do not have to find out in the future since service from such a long distance will always be very costly and inconvenient (I do not want to be without my Omnia for too long since it is the best phone I have EVER had).
