If my memory serves mean correctly (and I maybe wrong) the CSC with "SOIH1" has singaporean operator settings. If you go onto Opera Mobile, and check what the default start page is, that'll give you a clue where it came from (e.g. if it goes to Singtel or Starhub etc, then thats probably Singaporean. If it goes to Tmobile or Vodafone UK website, that likely a UK model). As far as I know, all UK models are WM6.5 (and according to some threads on this forum, the UK model hasn't yet been released). Of course I could be completely wrong, and all my speculation is under the assumption your using default firmware and haven't flashed it.

When you open Opera it goes to http:/wap.uk.samsungmobile.com
Guest GeneNZ Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Hi Its the original rom ...not been flashed . When you open Opera it goes to http:/wap.uk.samsungmobile.com As far as I can tell you just have a generic "International Version", as indicated by the missing H at the end of the "I8000". Other than that, it could come from anywhere. I speculated it would be Singapore, because I know Singapore had the "International version" and the 8GB model only. Plus it was the first country to get the Omnia 2. If, on the other hand, you had a I8000H in the firmware version, I can definitively say you have a Chinese/Hong Kong version. Other than that, I guess you can look for any Operator Logo's or markings. I have a Starhub "sticker button" on the back of my Omnia 2. I can easily rip it off to make it completely stock, but I don't see the point since I can't see it anyway in my case. I would assume that it didn't come from the UK, simply because according to a thread in this forum, the UK version wasn't to be released until 6th Oct. That was 3 days ago, and you've had yours for 3 weeks. Plus I heard that all UK versions will have WM6.5. Of course I could be entirely wrong. I don't know how Samsung logistics and sales work, so I can't exactly give you a definitive answer.

( when available ) Cheers Karl Since its an international version and you want to update via official means, supposedly the way to go is via Samsung PC Suite (from the Samsung website). I have never tried this because I haven't updated or even installed PC Suite. The other official means is to take it to a Samsung service centre and get them to upgrade it (don't know if that costs). If you want to go by unofficial means, look at the many threads on this forum (particularly the sticky threads). There you can update with OCTANS, and pick and choose which PDA/Phone/CSC you want, as well as which WM version you want. Of course, if you do this, you bear the risk of bricking your phone, as well as the explanation to Samsung warranty how you managed to brick your phone.

Take a look at the thread about updating the WM 6.5 dutch version on the main page. He outlines how he updated his device to WM6.5 Dutch. Again, wish I can help, but I don't use that software.
