So, is the OII's Gadget app totally proprietary?

Because Samsung's Gadgets are really bad.

I otherwise like WidgetPlus and TouchWiz, and am not particularly interested in something like SPB.

Unless someone convinces me that SPB is a lot better, of course :)

for me spb is much better then Samsung UI. No one can better convince u till u try it yourself.

That is true! But when I see all the sloppy threads at XDA about how to get it working the way it's supposed to, I just get a headache and not want to bother. I am sort of in between the extremes of complete UI modding, and just using an iphone.

Why do they only let you use a zoomed in portion of WVGA pictures as the background?

Is there a way to make the Launcher button start TouchWiz? Also, can we change the way the Launcher and Contact buttons look? Most of this program looks pretty nice, but those buttons are fugly :)

Even the plain SPB mobile shell without any xda mods is far better then the laggy WidgetPlus from Samsung.

Also, if in the future you decide you want to mod your UI you will be able to do that while I guess no one will ever bother to develop anything for WidgetPlus (if it's even possible at all, I have no idea)

I agree. I already registered SPB, even after just a couple hours of playing with it :)

Samsung makes great hardware, but man do they ever suck at software development!
