Hi all,

I need to use the I8000 as an analogue dial-up modem with Internet Connection Sharing. But it doesn't seem to work.

I've even updated to H3 ROM but still not able to connect.. I've read that Windows Mobile phones are able to perform such a function even without ICS.

Previously had success connecting using my old Nokia.. but find it hard to believe such a function can't be done on the Omnia 2.

Anybody knows whether it's due to missing drivers or whatever that needs to be done to get it working?

Thanks in advance..

On the latest Qualcomm based products, Samsung no longer support CS Data call, only PS.

so it is a hardware issue and can't be solved by third party sw?but i8000 should not be a qualcomm phone?

Actually if you look at the I8000 disassembly thread, there is a qualcomm chip handling the comms. So it's Samsung who no longer wish to support this function.. I checked with a friend, dial-up works on his HTC Touch HD eventhough it's a qualcomm phone too.. damn.

So Samsung tech support is not well informed.. they said it should work and asked me to check again.. when I replied saying it still didn't work, they didn't reply to me since.

Maybe we can get some files from HTC sets which can possibly work on our Samsung so till then the option for turtle_brian and me now is to carry a Nokia with a laptop.. or jump to HTC..
