Ring tone kicks in very late

I have just found out that ever since I upgraded to 6.5 the ringtone only starts to ring just before the caller is put through to voicemail. It may have something to do with 6.5, it may be something simple I miss. Anybody any suggestions? Are there certain registry settings I should check? Anybody ever have this problem (whether is 6.5 or any other version)?

this has been happening to me ever since 6.1...

well i put mine on vibrate and ring so it's always vibrates for a while before it finally gets to ring

could it b the location of ringtone file? should it b placed in the main memory instead of the secondary storage?

how big the file? full mp3?
