Guest Mr.Hammer Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I just wan't to update my post. now i'm using your V11_23511 because barely got any bugs (haven't noticed any yet.) please if possible make a working 28005 or 28002 simply because 28008 is to buggy. Ps. you rock I did build a 28002 ROM some days ago but I experienced the same "sleep-o-death" bug and therefore I decided not to post it. I don't know if build 28005 is better, but I think it's unlikely. The 28xxx series seems to be very experimental and buggy for now - but let's hope they stabilize soon.
Guest NarutoDKz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 ok thx for the quick reply. it's just that i tried Nicklas' rom which didn't seem to have any error (it's 28005). but 23511 is near perfect anyway. i like the concept of keeping them clean. I didn't like Nicklas' because he had thrown so much garbage in it that it was slow and not ram friendly.

It's kind of interesting for me to know if the "sleep-o-death" bug is caused by my way of cooking or if it's actually a problem with the WM build itself. Edited December 4, 2009 by Mr.Hammer
Guest Kampos Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Well I may try to make a working 28005 build then, but no promises. It's kind of interesting for me to know if the "sleep-o-death" bug is caused by my way of cooking or if it's actually a problem with the WM build itself. i did cook rom for myself with build 28008 and it has the sleep bug , and others have the same problems with this build . i used wozzer's sys and xip maybe the problem there or maybe it's from the build itself . anyway waiting for another build from com8 to come soon
Guest NarutoDKz Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I don't know if there is a major change from 23511 to 28005/8 could anyone send a link or give me a description. I usually don't ask these kind of question since I know a lot about computers and my omnia, but here i'm lost. please help.

Guest HAKAN KAHRAMAN Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Welcome to my WM6.5 ROM section. Please test and leave your comments and suggestions. The idea is to make ROMs that are as simple as possible keeping all the WM6.5 applications and only adding the original Samsung applications that I find essential. If you miss some of the original Samsung applications they can be downloaded from Sectors threads here (i900) and here (OmniaLITE). • If you need Windows Live get it directly from Microsoft here. • For Microsoft My Phone visit this link. • For a lightweight Bluetooth Icon Notifier get the www.CareAce.net BtIconNotifier v0.4 • For EzInput 1.5 XT9 keyboard install this cab for the keyboard itself and this for english language. Get additional language files here. Please note that EzInput and the original Samsung keyboard cannot coexist! • For a nice free QWERTY keyboard install FingerKeyboard. • For haptic feedback i recommend TouchResponse (configure your Omnia in Settings->System->TouchResponse with Device=11 to make it work). V11 - based on DXID1, build 21874/23091/23511/28008, no phone part, XPR compression, 8MB pagepool OmniaLite dialer and FM Radio have been removed. Only customization left is the large volume control. A small bugfix as the resize image functionality when preparing an MMS was broken in V10. Compared to my previous builds the V11 builds have only been lightly tested due too limited time. + WM6.5(.1) with all the basic applications like Office, Messenger and Remote Desktop - Extra themes, My Phone and Windows Live has been removed. + OmniaLITE Volume Control * In build 21874 .NET 2.0 has been replaced with .NET 3.5 * In build 23511 Welcome Center / Getting Started has been removed (it was not working and I did not want to spend time on fixing it) • SipListener.exe removed so there will be no haptic feedback if Samsung Keyboards are installed. I recommend using TouchResponse instead. • Finger Mouse does not work • Themes, DivX and Large Display icons still left in Settings but does nothing. • If data connectivity is not working goto Settings->Connections->Operator Settings, select a random provider, press OK, reenter Operator Settings and select the correct provider. Your rom include phone.bin file ? And ı want to ask a question this phone.bin part is important for rom performance ? A lot of rom not include phone.bin file so ı use my orj phone.bin file (rom JUHJ2). It seems no problem but is it important or just a first open animation ? Many Thanks ...
Guest Daro.UK Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Your rom include phone.bin file ? And ı want to ask a question this phone.bin part is important for rom performance ? A lot of rom not include phone.bin file so ı use my orj phone.bin file (rom JUHJ2). It seems no problem but is it important or just a first open animation ? Many Thanks ... Phone.bin is part of rom responsible for how your phone working (signal level, battery life) and have nothing to do with how your screen looks (boot, sound, touch response). If your phone keeps network ok and you are satisfied for battery life, call quality etc. forget about phone.bin - you dont need it. I think almost all cooked roms here dont have phone.bin included (including mr. Hammer one). The reason for this is that phone part havent been updated by samsung for a while and there is no point to add it to roms. Also flashing phone part is making much more risk, you can brick your phone when something goes wrong while when flashing just windows is safer and you can recover your phone by yourself (in most cases). D.

Guest melodysilly Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 i've tried ur 21874 build.. i think it has problm with touch. It's hard to press a button or to make selection in scroll menu in setting. can you give me suggestion for ur best build that you use now..?
Guest kabkab Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 i think it has problm with touch. try to change following settings in registry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH] "Click"=dword:2000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH] "DownUp"=dword:750

If its slow and not RAM friendly, switch your rom. please dont use garbage word for any of the stuff cookers include. After all, they are doing us good by offering their ROM's for free.

You are right. and it's only Flotanium which is kinda slow, but I still think that Nicklas' rom would better if he did throw some stuff out of it. Sry about my language, it wasn't my purpose to offend anyone. Please forgive me :D
Guest Mr.Hammer Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) New build 21884 uploaded. Please test if you like the "old school" WM6.5 look ;) Edited December 11, 2009 by Mr.Hammer
Guest AlexGV Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Hi Mr.Hammer Could you, please, explain the difference among your ROM versions? Why, always when a new ROM is released, are several versions available? I'm sorry if this question is very silly, but, I've flashed my phone a lot of times and I never could find any explanation about that. Sorry, still, about my poor English.
Guest Rickrcomm Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Mr. Hammer, I'm a newbie to flashing a new ROM. I've done manuf updates (HP iPAQ) and apps but no custom ROMs. Can you point me to a primer (installing custom ROMs for Dummies)? How do I save - or get back to - the current ROM if I want to? Thanks, Rick

I'm sorry if this question is very silly, but, I've flashed my phone a lot of times and I never could find any explanation about that. Sorry, still, about my poor English. Well the easy answer is that there are different development branches (COM) and I try to build ROMs from different branches so everyone can choose there own favorite. Different builds have different bugs, features and limitations. The 218xx are the stable 6.5 builds which are very similar to WM6.1 so choose this if you want the most stable build. ;) If you like a quite stable build with the new 6.5.1 GUI choose a 23xxx build. Personally i believe 23091 to be more stable that the 23511 build. Bleeding edge is the 28xxx builds but I haven't been able to cook one of those that I can recommend yet... ;) Edited December 13, 2009 by Mr.Hammer

I've found this number in a lot of topics, about new ROMs. As I understood, 6.5 are the stable builds; 6.5.1 are the builds with new interface (buttons instead texts, new contacts application, etc). So, what about the 6.5.3. Is it a newer one? Or is it just a parallel line of development? I apologize for exploring your good will, but I think that my doubts, maybe, could be the doubts of many users of your ROM. Thank you in advance. Edited December 14, 2009 by AlexGV

I forgot to mention that the 28xxx are the WM6.5.3 builds. They are the most experimental builds at the moment, and as far as I know both 6.5, 6.5.1 and 6.5.3 are being developed simultaneously. They are just different branches of the same code. The GUI in the WM6.5.3 builds are similar to the WM6.5.1 builds (23xxx) but they have some visible changes like a new and larger SIP/keyboard. Guest Mr.Hammer Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Please try the new 28014 build and give me some feedback! It seems to be stable and without the annoying "sleep-o-death" bug ;)
Guest laserman123 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Hi Hammer, I am using your 21884 rom atm...great rom by the way. Only thing is when I install any programs the icons don't show on start page until after soft reset?

As usual, you clarified the doubts. As last explanation, could you associate each COM with its respective build? Just for complete the information. Best regards.
