In many forums I see this fix for Increasing ring problem

  • To fix the increasing ring problem, go to registry \HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring; Change the DWORD: AttenuationCategory to Value: 1

I tried this but it doesn't work for my i8000... my registry under the \...\SoundCategories\Ring folder looks like this

AttenuationCategory - 0x2 (2)

DefaultSound - Ring-WindowsMobile .wma

Directory - \Windows\

InitVol - 0x5 (5)

Speaker - 0x1 (1)

I only changed the AttenuationCategory from 2 to 1 as instructed above, and my phone only vibrates but no ring at all - even after I changed to other ringtones.

However, when I changed from 1 back to 2, everything is back to original... with the increasing ring problem still exists.

Anyone know how to fix the increasing ringtone problem for me?

As said in your other post, the solution is just for older firmware before H5 I think. Not working anymore, I tried a lot of reg keys but no use for me...:)

In the end I regitered my ringotne with the first 3 secs louder.
