Hi,

I'm missing a (in my opinion) very important setting on my new Omnia II:

On my old HTC TD2 with WM6.1 it was possible to deactivate battery loading when phone was connected to active sync via USB.

I think this is very important to save battery life and prevent decreasing capacity of the battery... I don't want to load the battery several times a day...

However I can't find this option in Omnia II / WM6.5. Even in the WM (not samsung) settings menu there is nothing like "power settings"...

Is this because of WM6.5 or is Samsung still hiding some settings?? Does anybody know how to get to this option? Maybe some registry modifications?

Thanks for your support

Tom

Compared to the cost of the phone, a new battery costs peanuts!

Coming from the i900, I like the fact that it charges from USB.

Perhaps go back to the HTC's ???

The facts is Li-on battery can be loads many many times a day (as it count on cycle base).

But I think connecting Omnia2 As internet sharing device on notebook(run on battery) without that function would be more problem as your notebook's battery will lose fast.

you can use bluetooth instead or wmrouter with wifi

All Li-ion charging device must have protective circuits whereby if the Li-ion battery is charged up to certain stage, current will be decreased to an extent where it is only tickle charging the device, otherwise the battery will explode.

This tickle charging is using very little current, so provided you phone is fully charged it should not affect much of your notebook's battery life. Of course, if your phone is running out of battery, then it will use the notebook's battery, but that's besides the point, what's the use of connecting a run out of battery PDA to a notebook without charging ability?

I mean that charging from notebook battery is not effective (as your engery will be transform to Heat. ex. 100mAh from your NB may only charge into your phone about 80mAh )
