Guest emperorben Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) Currently using J6 of Secany's WM6.5 ROM (EUI CSC). I set my USB connection to MASS Storage (My Storage). Whenever I disconnect the Omnia 2 from the computer (after transferring files), I notice the entire system crawled to a massive slowdown! All operations and software load very slowly. Had to soft-reset the phone to recover the speed. This issue only happened after I flashed to J6 ROM. It wasn't present in the 1st WM6.5 ROM by Secany. Anyone else have this same problem? Hi Emperor, did you downgrade your USB driver to version 5 from version 6 when you flash the ROM? that might be the issue :-) ... a lower version of the USB driver, I mean. I think it was mentioned on Secany's fan site: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Secany/156012478954 Edited October 19, 2009 by bond_guy_2002
Guest Wilson@China Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I experienced the same problem after flashing, I even doubt that it's caused by too many picture files in My Storage and once disconnected from computer, the "autoupdate" software re-search all the contents as the storage which would be considered as new inserted media, as the result, the CPU was utilized suddenly so the system became very laggy. If open the task manager and under view process window, the thread "shell32" will utilize more than 80% of CPU load once the problem happening. So I deleted the file link (autoupdate for media player) in startup folder and restart the system, it DOESN'T work. Hope somebody can find out the root cause and provide a good solution.
Guest Rastas Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 same problem here, i already encountered this problem when flashed to J1. no solution
Guest acastiyo Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 Hello guys, I was copying files to my Omnia2 and also noticed this slowdown. My Rom version is: I8000NXXIL2 I8000FOPIL2 I8000XXIL1 As you see I am using the latest ROM from Secany, L2 and as adioph said in this thread ( http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...b-mass-storage/ ) if you disable titanium, the slowdown doesn´t happen, because it is annoying having to restart the phone everytime you finish copying something. Also, after you copied files to the phone, if it slowed down, you can disable titanium and then enable it again to get the phone to normal speed. So it looks like the problem is directly related with titanium. Does anyone found a better solution? I read in other posts that it may have something to do with the drivers used on the pc (in case you changed them to be able to flash the phone) but I don't think so. I can connect the phone in storage mode to any pc with this driver or not, and it will slowdown after disconnection so that's not the problem. Hope samsung or someone can fix this.
