Suggestion for MoDaCo Rom

Hi Paul and everybody else,

I'd like to suggest a small addition to the wonderful MoDaCo custom ROM. There is a nice application called Droidwall, which is enables the user to black- or whitelist individual applications for net access via either 3g or WiFi.

http://code.google.com/p/droidwall/

It is actively developed with the author regularly taking place in discussions:

Installation on our Heroes is of course easily possible from the market, so everybody can already see what functionality is implemented (in case my english is not understandable...).

But as of now there is a kernel module missing to make this application work successfully. Somebody else already tracked the problem down before I stumbled over this:

Would it be possible to include this small owner.ko module in the next image, or at least offer it somewhere so interested users could install it maually?

Thanks very much for all your hard work on these great ROMs!

Bye,

John

Hm, while writing this up this idea occurred to me as well, but I hoped I was misled... This is especially annoying, as this is so unneeded and in general a bad situation from HTC's side. I hope Harald Welte (gpl-violations) has success soon.

Thanks for your reply and also for the new ROM, I'm off to flashing right now!

Hi Paul, already have seen your remark in the custom kernel thread that your looking into including the proper modules. Thanks!

Just wanted to remind you that in the links above the module is listed (as I understood it only owner.ko (~), but the maintainer of Droidwall is mentionend in there as well, I think it is rodrigo.zr from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...mp;postcount=93 ).

Bye!
