Guest WidowmakerNZ Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the podcast connection so it doesnt go through WAP, but instead through GPRS. I cant get my WAP set up as I dont know where to change it from IDEAS Wap so therefore need to go through GPRS Thanks Simon

You need to create new data connections for Vodafone NZ. Here is a link to how to create an Internet and an MMS connection on Windows mobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=434343. You need to create one connection for Internet access and another for MMS data (which Vodafone doesnt charge you for apart from the per MMS fee). Note that to get MMS working you need to go into the Samsung messaging application and create a new Profile on the options menu then make this the active profile (ie dont use a Singtel profile that is already defined). For the profile for Vodafone NZ you need to set: MMSC = http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend Data connection = whatever the name of the MMS connection you defined was Gateway = WAP 1.0 (well that works for me) IP address = 172.30.38.3 Port = 9201 To be able to receive MMS you need to inform the network that you are capable of receiving them by actually sending an outgoing MMS - send one to yourself. If you have set things up correctly you should see notification that it is connecting on the MMS data connection you defined when it is sending/receiving MMS. When you open your browser (assuming WiFi not on) you should see notification that it is using the Internet connection you defined.
