Guest derrickwhitt Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Anyone have a problem with the alarm not working? I had the same problem with the Base ROM, possibly because the sounds may not be installed. I was almost late for work... :D
Guest cmalone Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 i added ringtones and have it selected in alarm. still nothing
Guest waremike32 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 cmalone, what version are you running? I just tested m2d2 and the alarm is functioning fine. As for the base, yes the tones were removed. I'll retest the base/neo later when I get off work.
Guest killingthedream Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 i'm runnig the m2d2 8.1 and am having an alarm issue. it seems to only go off if i'm plugged into external power. when unplugged the alarm will not go off with the screen is turned off. when it is plugged in, the alarm goes off like it should, weather the screen is on or off. and on a side note... waremike - aenima or lateralus?? :D

Worked fine. Just double check you set up the alarm correctly. If your device is set to silent/vibrate you need to check "sound alarms even when device...." Oh and I love all the Tool children equally!!!! Edited October 27, 2009 by waremike32
Guest killingthedream Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 originally i thought it might have been an issue with s2u2 so i decided just to reflash so everything is fresh. all volumes are on and s2u2 isnt installed and i still get no alarm when the phone is sleeping on battery power. any ideas? by the way... love the rom. one of the finest m2d2 builds i have seen. feels so classy and refined. top notch work. :D
Guest techfellow Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I can't find the market place cab, can someone point me in the right direction? Besides the market place missing, This is the best rom I've used since I got my i910. Great work.
Guest thekevster Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 I see you have pried open your third eye my friend! great album! my favorite album to listen to after i flash your KIND rom if you catch my drift lol.

Great work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=568806 i would use the Short-WMMarketplace.cab or the Short-WMMarketplace_sc.cab. the other 2 wont install a shortcut to you start folder which i find pointless. the only difference is that the _sc.cab gives you the option to save programs to your storage space rather than device memory.
Guest digitalDNA Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Having some issue with M2d2 1. This is a great rom, M2D2 feels so "right", and in general everything comes together very well. Plus loving the latest WinMo6.5 features like the bottom bar and all the navigation buttons. The new Alarm menu and configuration is far and away better than the previous style. However, on the note of the alarm... I get the same problems. I have checked, double checked, and triple checked all of my sound and notifications settings, preferences, and volume levels. I set the alarm for a few minutes ahead, turn off the screen, and nothing happens (on battery power). If I keep the screen on before the alarm is set to go off, the alarm sounds. If I set the alarm and plug it in to power, and turn off the screen, the alarm sounds. Also get the nice lock screen alarm menu, with slide to dismiss or slide to snooze. I don't get why this is occurring. Like I have said, no settings have changed anywhere, as I kept all of the same settings between trials on battery and powered. Plugging in my phone every night to make sure the alarm sounds isn't that much of an issue, as I like to keep it away from my bed. But sometimes I like to snooze it and bring it near my bed, so taking the phone off the charger is necessary. But no alarm would sound if I did that. I found this out the hard way when my phone alarm didn't sound this morning. However, thankfully my phone isn't the only alarm I use, it's my backup with extremely irritating ringer (in the new configuration, Alarm 2) that helps in case the clock radio alarm I use doesn't do the trick. :D Which is almost all the time. lol So far this is the only problem I've ran into, which is saying great things. It's an excellent ROM. Sadly, it's a very big feature for me that ended up having the problems. I think as others have said there are other M2D problems, but I don't use my phone for everything, things like the media features are never used (have a Zune HD for that). For my purposes, this is my favorite ROM ever flashed to my phone, save for that little bug so far. The fact that the waremike isn't experiencing the same problem shows it's not a very consistent bug, or it's only consistent with other issues are presented. Hopefully we can all work together to figure out what exactly is helping create this problem. Oh, and rock on waremike. Tool is always a perfect relaxing choice. :P
Guest waremike32 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) I'm running the m2d2 8.1. I've been testing the alarm all day (with many different scenarios) and I can't recreate the issue. My alarm has gone off every time. Does anyone else have a working alarm? While I dig through my kitchens to see if I spot anything, can anyone with the alarm problem list any apps they've installed? And perhaps their Wake Up settings in settings/personal/buttons. Since I can't recreate the problem, I'm assuming at this point it may be caused by a third party program. Please state which rom/version you are using when asking a question or reporting an issue. Wifi Sharing doesn't seem to be functioning, however I think it is a build issue, not an issue specific to my rom. For USB interenet sharing, use the Internet Sharing App from MS in the start menu. Works great! If you're experience wifi issues, try toggling the wifi powersave in settings/system/power Also, the scrolling in HTC music is a known issue, you have to use the side bar. Guest KSamp Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 loving the 8.1 rom.....but does anybody know where I can get the original drop down taskbar/icons?
Guest MajPayne Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Loving the M2D2 rom. I prefer roms with clean and professional looking themes. I will second the alarm issue on the 8.0 rom on battery. Flashing to 8.1 M2D2 as I type. I will be testing the Alarm sounding on battery in a few minutes. This is a much need feature for me since I'm traveling on business in a couple days. The auto-location weather app in M2D2 is great for the traveler. Thanks for your hard work and contributions Edited October 27, 2009 by MajPayne
Guest deshwasi Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 i am trying out the M2D2 rom and looks very nice. now, how do i get to the home button/screen quickly without having to scroll thru the bar to search for it? i thought a hard button would be assigned to bring it to home but cant figure it out.
Guest happytang Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Hi Waremike, Aside from a few freezing issues whenever I installed new programs, my camera function doesn't seem to be working. Whether I hit the soft key, the start menu icon, or hold the hard key I can't get my camera to pop up.
Guest waremike32 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 @MajPayne Thanks, let me know how the alarm test for 8.1 goes. I couldn't recreate the issue on that one, but I can confirm the issue w/ the neo. i am trying out the M2D2 rom and looks very nice. now, how do i get to the home button/screen quickly without having to scroll thru the bar to search for it? i thought a hard button would be assigned to bring it to home but cant figure it out. Yet another known m2d2 issue...no fix yet, but working on it. my camera function doesn't seem to be working. Which rom/version?
Guest techfellow Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Running for the pas 2 hours. No alarm issue here. Edited October 27, 2009 by techfellow
Guest Morkai Al'Mandragon Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Ive never undestood why people do not use AE Button plus. You can asign a key to go to the today screen, close (not min) etc, and set things to work on double and triple taps... I could not live without it on any rom.
Guest waremike32 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Ok, I think I've got the neo alarm sorted. Update coming with some other small fixes for neo. Now, on to base...

Please state which rom/version you are using when asking a question or reporting an issue. hey waremike. i just did a hard reset so no apps installed or anything, and i still get the no alarm on battery while sleeping issue. while i don't essentially need the alarm, it is quite a nice feature to have. i'm more than willing to help in any way in figureing this out. i'd hate to have to flash to another rom because of the alarm, i really like this one. oh yeah, the KIND + TOOL = euphoria.
Guest waremike32 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 8.1 NEO is up. XDA_UC fixed, other minor bugs fixed. Let me know on the alarm. It seems to be working fine for me. I'm checking out the base and working back on the m2d2. Please be exact when setting up the alarm. Time, am/pm, day. I goofed on that a few times myself today. But then again, I've been testing almost every ten minutes. :D Let me know if it's working for you guys. Thanks for your patience!
Guest The Eleven Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 i'm also having an issue with the titanium weather not working correctly it updates fine then after a second it default to this partly cloudy night icon and says there is no internet? I'm having this same problem in Neo Ver. 8. Overall I'm liking the ROM. I think some of these newer builds from MS are a bit buggy. All the chefs seem to have their hands full. Thanks for sharing your work Waremike.
