Guest akirita Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Hello I wonder if there is any way of running the tomtom 7 in omnia II because satellites can not get lame, they know if there is any psomnia as for omnia i900 but for 2? thank you very much and would appreciate your help and that I do not like igo8. greetings and thanks
Guest TheBishop Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I managed to get it working using the free version of GPSGATE. Only issue is that the position update seems very slow. I gave up and have gone back to using Garmin Mobile XT(I have also looked at Route 66 - the Samsung LBS version which seemed ok but expensive - its ok to view etc but €60 for a years worth of navigation is ridiculous). I know that TOMTOM now support the i900 Omnia so hopefully they'll add official support for th i8000 soon.
Guest willowfarru Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 You need a splitter , gps gate , gps port. Busca un poco tron, que esto ya ha salido. Saludos
Guest zurg95 Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I'm using GPSGATE 2.6.0.321 and TOMTOM 7.915. I get GPS fix in a few seconds (warm boot) & less than 2 minutes (cold boot+AGPS).

You can try port splitter which is free, but I didn't tested it.
Guest zurg95 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Do you find the screen update slow with TOMTOM?? The Tomtom screen update speed is depending of the number of POI you want to display. Displaying less POI will make screen update faster. Omnia II Tomtom screen update is much more faster than with Omnia I with the same number of POI to display. Edited October 27, 2009 by zurg95

On the input tab, you should first close the input port to be able to access the advanced tick boxes.

Once you are ok with other gpsgate settings, you can go to the advanced tab and tick 'Start GpsGate after a soft reset' on options. Doing that, gpsgate wil start automatically and TomTom will be always ready to use.

Guest dgmorland Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Does anyone have Tomtom Home able to see Tomtom Navigator 7 when it is installed on the Internal Storage? The old v1.5 of Tomtom Home was able to recognise my device but the current v2.7 of Tomtom Home says "No device connected".
