Guest sorg Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 what is the difference on Omnia Pro? So far only Work Mode in widgetplus, but whu need this silly widgetplus if there are many 3rd party alternatives? may be you have more info about Omnia Pro interface difference or even side by side comparison. Post links here.
Guest AndrewTan Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) They is two different Today done by Samsung in OMNIA PRO B7610 where you can switch from widget plus to work mode. 1. Samsung Widget Plus (same as OMNIA II) 2. Work Mode I also want this. :D Edited October 27, 2009 by AndrewTan
Guest JoJo.IT Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 2. Work Mode I also want this. :P I'd like to check it too. I found this today very complete and simple, with all the needed infos clearly exposed! :D
Guest mickequipe Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 That looks really nice! Hopefully someone will port that to the I8000 :D

Post links here. Well I just like the work mode. As far as I know O2 and Opro are very similar, I think it is not that difficult to get the work mode to function on the O2 (but I'm a noob). But just because this UI looks so simple I would like to have it and I don't have to go for M2D or Mobile Shell 3.5 or whatever. To me it is enough just the way it is
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Looks far better than the main UI, one thing I hate about the widgets is you can not resize them, so this makes it unusable for me. Glad I swapped to SPBmobileshell has the standard and pro layouts, far more usable.
Guest Breit Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 (edited) the samsung widgetplus interface is far to laggy and uncomfortable to play with so thats a no go! spb mobile shell is bad-ass ugly with its professional screen (for instance using the otherwise beautiful ron arad theme on wm6.5 with the brown base color) and the inability of spb mobile shell to define background images on all pages. 1 thing i like about the professional work screen from samsung b7610 is that it integrates perfectly with all the other samsung apps from a design perspective. so i would really appreciate if someone is able to port the pro-ui to the omnia 2. from all i've seen not only the work screen is new on the b7610, but also the widgetplus lifestyle screen is capable of landscape mode wich it isn't on the omnia 2... Guest Smille123 Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 hi there! as the omnia pro 7610 is out now..are there any news on how to import the omnia pro "work interface" to the omnia i8000? Asked in Omnia Pro Forum to extract the related files, but noone answered till now... :D
Guest Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Sorry, I hope I am not hijacking your post. I was interested in something similar, more I'd like to mod the interface instead. The Omnia II's UI is just a common swf that can be reversed, modify/ add/ subtract things from the Action script a little, then recompile. Thing is you need the dependencies first to recompile. I wouldn't doubt all Samsung devices use the same base, maybe one core class package? Kinda bumbed no one cares to look into this, as one of the nich cool factors of having any gadget is exclusiveness, although cool to have HTC or another devices interface. Having a Samsung phone be a Samsung phone just seems fresh, if that makes sense :D Does anyone know if the Omnia Pro UI is built in the same manor?
Guest Breit Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 i just want to give this topic a small push hoping to see if someone is making progress with the samsung pro ui on the i8000... ?!?
Guest Shemmy Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) I asked for a .cab over in the Omnia Pro ROM dump thread here also. We'll see if I get any replies there. Edited December 7, 2009 by Shemmy
Guest mattb777 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 I asked for a .cab over in the Omnia Pro ROM dump thread on PPC Geeks. We'll see if I get any replies there. there's a rom link in the omnia pro forum here at modaco, i dont know how to do it but im sure someone can download and extract..?

Guest Smille123 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 So let´s make our first experience in romcooking/extracting, but someone has to tell us how...
Guest Tarqon Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Have a look at this post. Keep in mind that it has not been verified as working yet. Also as a Omnia Pro user I can tell you that though it's more useful than standard Touchwiz this homescreen still isn't all that, but who knows, someone might like it. :D
Guest the_KIT Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 Wow...this Samsung Today reallly looks pretty useful, simple and much more informative than the touchwiz! I can't wait for someone to extract the cab for it... :D
Guest farookh Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Ne luck guys this looks real nice all info needed nicely arranged. Its a must have. Edited December 9, 2009 by farookh
Guest Shemmy Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Take a look at the other thread - no dice ;)
Guest the_KIT Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 oh boy...seems like this UI is not really sought after by many... ;)
Guest DunKnow Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 I would like to have it, the UI is very simple and informative, seems like it requires lesser memory then touchwiz plus. However majority of us are not developers so we might have to wait haha.
Guest the_KIT Posted December 10, 2009 Report Posted December 10, 2009 but i gotta admit that it doesn't haf tt 'eye-candy' effect as touchflo3D or HTC Sense...but it's juz simple and practical la...much better than the laggy touchwiz..i wish someone can teach me how to extract it...i would do it! ;)
Guest jonggie112 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 to all experts, please take this omnia pro ui work mode into consideration.
