WiFi AP creation

Has anyone tried using the Pulse as an WiFi AP? Normally this would be for tethering, and from reading other posts here I note that appears to be currently impossible because Huawei haven't enabled CONFIG_NETFILTER (among other things) in the kernel, and haven't released the source either.

However, in my case we're considering using the Pulse just as a local access point (to talk to some other devices with WiFi, but not requiring routing to the wider 'net), and wondered if this was possible? Given that with a normal Linux device, going into Master mode (i.e. making the WiFi interface an AP) is only possible on some drivers and not others, I'd love to check if this works before buying one as this is something we really need working!
