I got the new build 28008 from Da_G...

In SYS there is no Metadata Folder. Is it necessary to have this folder or not ?

It's not necessary... I already cooked a rom with this build... and it's working fine... but I prefer 28002 because in 28008 the taskbar fonts are so big, that some text couldn't fit in there... which didn't happen in 28002. :D

Hey there,

Im assuming that your using nicks DXID1 package.....

Mine had the sleep bug however built a 28005 and 28008 (which was horribly unstable!) successfully. Youll need to use the original drivers folder from the DXID1.exe I can upload them tonight at some point if you want. This fixed the problem for me :D

P.s. if your building would you be interested in a ROM development team?

Hey all. IM SO CLOSE TO BEING READY TO RELEASE ROMS!!! but i need some help from an experienced chef. Ive been trying to fully remove the samsung omnia online widgets but cant get the option out of the home items page!!! Its not in the RGU with the rest of the items, so im guessing samsung installs it through the OEM folder :S and adds the registry key. Theres also the .swf left in from somewhere even though there are no .swf's related to widgets in the oem folder :S

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of it? Or please please please let me know how to completely remove the widgets from the ROM.

Also I have added XDA_UC but on first boot i get a preconf.exe making the device restart! How can i disable this so XDA can run fully?

Also struggling to find the registry to remove getting started from the home screen.

I do get a few .exe cant be found errors on first boot aswell, anyone else experienced this? Stuff like WLMplayer.exe cannot be found: Critical component is missing etc etc.

On reboot everything works fine tho! :S

Khuanchai does it briliantly in his last rom for the i900. I've dropped him a PM on this but I think he's busy cooking too  :D

If I'm not wrong, XDA_UC doesn't start until the user completes the calibration/time setting etc. That means we can wait until the preconfiguration part restarts the phone, then do the calibration, and let UC run and reset a second time. I've investigated PreCfg.exe and there's a reset switch inside. If we can disable it, it should let UC do the reset. I'm not too sure what this precfg.exe does exactly, but I guess it has something to do with operator settings.

BTW, can you share how you fixed the sleep bug on 28008? Have been cooking a couple of dozen builds just to find the cause, but to no avail. Thanks!

Okay, just tested with leaving it to see if preconf.exe will appear by itself (Ive disabled all the startup part lol so hopefully will trigger reset and then XDA_UC on second boot.

Take the attatched drivers, delete the exisiting ones from Nick's OEM package and put the attatched in in.

Of course that you must have mui files for lang that you set as default?! How else could you use other lang than build-in.

If your system is based on english (0409) lang, with build in 0409 mui files, you must have other lang in your system ot switch user interface lang to that.

You have to build system on YOUR lang, or build it on some other lang as base, but add your lang later. E.g. all my roms are based on english 0409 mui files but I add

croatian lang files later, via CSC.bin. Therefore I use CSCconfig.reg entry that I posted.

Okay. Well ive got all the Enlgish .mui files in the build :S Is it safe to build a ROM without the customer.csc part? It seems that by skipping that it could fix both the language problem and the regional settings :D

rtomakov, do you have experience with the languages? Im using a custom .csc now and the regional settings has changed properly :D But i still get an arabic microsoft keyboard by default!!! ;) Any ideas on how to change this?
