Guest silvos3189 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 Hey guys, I'm not sure if the rest of you need to constantly soft reset, but I realize I've had to soft reset about a couple times a week sometimes 2x a day to have the omnia2 work fast and without lag again. Well the problem is that whenever I gotta do a soft reset, I basically have to turn off the phone and then turn it back on again and that's kinda putting more pressure on that end call button... So i'm wondering if there's any soft reset apps that anyone will recommend? I'm looking for an app that creates a button on the screen I can just press and then phone will soft reset.
Guest dgmorland Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I'm looking for an app that creates a button on the screen I can just press and then phone will soft reset. If you are using SPB Mobile Shell there is a softreset icon in the Tools section. You can create a link to this from your home screen if you use Mobile Shell
Guest silvos3189 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 yea, that's what I use to use, which was where I realized how useful an app like that is, but ever since TouchFlo3D I uninstalled SPB Mobile Shell and well... it feels kinda weird just to reinstall it to access that soft reset button.
Guest sys_error Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 go google for psShutXP.exe, install it and click on shortcut to soft reset.
Guest ronny Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 Here just copy this on your storage card then make a shortcut in your start menu.Softreset.exe

One thing though, is there a way to create a shortcut using the default file manager or do I need to use a 3rd party file manager to do that? I always had to access Samsung's File Manager to run that exe file. Edited November 7, 2009 by bluhound

Never really tried using the default file manager, I always use windows explorer on my pc to make the shortcut. it is more convenient for me than using the file manager on the device and using just your fingers to do it. I prefer to use my mouse hehe.

I think the only way to create a shortcut without using any 3rd party app is manually creating the .lnk file (create a .txt file, input the path, rename to .lnk) You can read more about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490447

Guest silvos3189 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 THANKS the softreset.exe works PERFECTLY! Just what I wanted, lol and i learned something new today... so that's how you make shortcuts. I did it in a cheating way though. Thanks for the psShutXP.exe suggestion too. It worked well also, except possibly because it can do the other stuff, it takes a while for it to pop up.

When it is already in your storage card, right click it with your mouse, then press copy, then right click on \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder on your device then press "paste shortcut" then just rename it.

Include a self modified skin for Omnia II After installation, copy the gif skin to /windows and overwrite the original PsShutXP.cab Edited November 27, 2009 by MaliciousKen
