I've tried :

  • *#2470# many time (Option [3] and button Firmware update ) (PWD 1234)
Do you have those informations :

    plywsll279.png

And after updated, this message ?

    • Intall full JD/JE and *#2470# again
    • Install the new K1 and *#2470# again
    • Hard Reset many time
No effect ! Any Idea ?

Hi,

I need more infos. So I have to ask some questions. Basicly need to find out it's SW or HW problem.

1/ Before flash, did you use your camera?

2/ What is your version before flash?

3/ What file you selected to flash?

4/ You have the problem right after flash, or after some install?

5/ Check your camera version string now.

If someone can post the working camera firmware string will be nice.

  1. Of course I use my camera before (but not "just" before)
  2. Original firmware was HZHIG4 (around 3 month before), then I flash to XXIH5.
After that, Ive tried HZHIH6 + H9 and came back to H5.
Then Your J1. And for only one day J6 without Eboot.
Due to remarks (here) about JD, I've decide to flash PDA J9 with EBOOT+CSC+PHONE from JD/JE.
  3. "What file you selected to flash?" ????
    EBoot : Eboot_I8000NXXIJD_HW_40.eb0
    MULTICSC : CSC_I8000NXXIJE.CSC (I8000XEFIJE.CSC)
    PDA MoviNAND: PDA_I8000NXXIJ9_HW_40.MST
    PHONE : Phone_I8000XXIJ4_REV_04.bin
  4. I don't know, but I install same softwares over time. (see [2])
  5. I allready flash to K1 (full installation including Eboot)
My cmera version firmware still :
    ISP FW(00.00) PRA(00.00) AF(NONE)
    BIN FW(71.03) PRA(71.1A) AF(NONE)
Maybe this is an hazard and there is no relation from flash to my camera default !

@InvalidCast : thanks for your screen !

Is that mean ?

ISP : actual camera firmare

BIN : Available firmware in ROM

Where do you think the camera frmware is (to update) ? In PDA part or phone one?

Is there a ROM with a different camera firmware (PDA or PHONE ?) ?

i think for .mst file u should input to MoviNAND

for .nb0 u should input to PDA

You're right (thanks), I've made a mistake in my post (but not when flash) .... I think the problem is somewhere else !

Don't think there is really much you can do but take it back to the Service Center. Unfortunately the community doesn't have much to go on in terms of available tools to troubleshoot the issue. The only i8000 specific tool I know of is OCTANS (and even so, I don't think its i8000 specific).

Have you tried the test application that comes installed with your phone? (the one with the compass app in it). If that comes back with nothing, then its likely its a hardware issue.

Funny really, because I've been trying to troubleshoot a RAID card issue on a brand new Dell R610 today. It kept saying the firmware verification failed and the solution was to reflash the firmware. Despite all our flashing attempts, it turns out the the card is faulty and needs replacing. So sounds like something similar but different device/component etc.

Thanks for your answer !

I think same you about device trouble but I can not find Service Center here in Guangzhou.

I've asked, in case of somebody have good idea .... something I miss ...

I've tried "LCD test.exe" and it gave me same message for the 2 cameras, but for the front one, I have a view (the back one is black).

I don't know who can help me to find one Service Center around me (nobody have interrest of "new technoligy").

And I have a very big problem : I can not speak (or read) chinese

(And chineses here don't want to speak english - but they know, most of time)

Yes, I am very unlucky with this phone! And I did not tell you every thing !

I've broken the LCD, this was totaly my fault ! A big choc on my leg with my phone in my pocket !

It was very hard to find LCD but I did.

First due to very small price (compare to everywhere i've seen inside internet) I ask for LCD + Touch screen (somme scratch).

I ask somebody (I was busy for work) to take my phone back, first surprise : they didn t change the touch screen (but i've allready paid) !

Go back, nobody speak english, then go back again one day after ... finally "soory" and change the touch screen !

When came back, I was happy .... but infortunatly, the presence detector was unserviceable !

ARGGGG, go back again re-sorry.

I've tried everything in LCD test (including cameras), and everythings worked !

... one day after, flash to J9 .... then camera trouble came !

Thanks everybody for your interrest.

(H5 did not correct my trouble)

Finally, I found an other shop :

The man open my phone (so easy for him !) use multimeter, one time, two tim ... then : "IC no good".

And take calclator to show me 250 Yuans" ... and show on my watch 30minutes.

Half an hour later, every thing's perfect. I've tried everything in LCDTest.exe = OK !

Congratulations for your phone recovery. But I don't think it's due to flashing but the ESD during your last time changing LCD.

A bit off-topic: Seems you don't like your Chinese neighbors very much. As a 100% Chinese, I feel quite sad. Please understand Guangzhou is a very traditional city, the people are not as open as western people but they are always kind. For sure you will feel many difficulties for living in Guanzhou if you don't understand Cantoness, and most of people don't understand English as well. The "businessman" in Haiyin, or similar places, are very tricky to deal with you when you are expatriate and go there alone. I suggest you go with your local colleagues next time in case needed. Anyhow I believe this is quite common in the world. Furthermore, if you want to have better feeling like stay in France, it's better move to Shenzhen. I think you knew it, and I don't mind to buy you a coffee if time available. Send me PM if you like to do so. :D

Verry sorry, if my write give you this feeling !

I stay in Guangzhou and feel very alone ! This is too hard for me to learn chinese language (exept xié xié - ni hao - mi fan - pink suéi - :) )!

That's true that most poeple don't want to speak english (even if they can do) ... I think , they shy to speak bad !

About the special place "Haiyin", most of time this is very friendly (not every where, but I know where to not go! ... same everywhere in the world!).

And the real big trouble was that OMNIA II was not availlable before. Now it is !

If you read again how the problem was fixed : I did not speak bad ???

This is completly the opposite. I was just trying to put a little humor to show the incredible rapid, effective and sheap work !

Sorry, for this personnaly, but I scare chineses here feel same Wilson.

Hi, Yohng

No need say sorry, I can feel that you were satisfied with the guy who repaired your camera module. And I understood it's your humour. Never mind, I think the people who have same hobbies should be friends, right?

My previous post just want to share some of my understanding of Guangzhou people for your living there easier. And don't want to give any "cold heart" image to our French guest. :D Enjoy your life in Guangzhou, also welcome to Shenzhen. :D

If the problem really come from Integrated Circuit (IC) .... I suspect there is no other solution than service center (you are luky if you have warranty)!

Yohng,

I have not send to repair yet because i dare not to wait and let the service center hold my phone for days

from experiance, they will reflash and send it back and forth a few time before they admit hardware problem

also because sometime my camera module is working, sometime not working, i am not sure it is hardware (IC) fault

when camera is working, •*#2470# can detect firmware

when camera not working, •*#2470# cannot detect firmware
