Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Just for the record, that's what I get when I place both fingers on the screen (the red values are weirdly umping around) <4>[569, synaptics_wq] [13813.898829] x 2100, y 2330, z 0, w 0, F 0, <4>[569, synaptics_wq] [13813.898843] 2nd: x 768, y 0, z 0, w 0, F 0, dx 0, dy 0

Okay, that looks interesting. I cannot say for sure though if that has something to do with the controller firmware. Could you maybe upload the apk you used so that I can try it also? What would also be helpful is a longer snippet from your kmsg output (especially when you manage to resize the pictures) Best regards, BB

I'll make the cat of kmsg wile I'm resizing the pictures. But I'm wondering. If u can get the same thing without the flashed touchcontrolle, then maybe: 1. The firmware I flashed isn't the real MT firmware we need? 2. The firmware that the touchcontroller already has is MT. Also you can try the MT browser and maps.MTPhotoSortrDemo.apk.zipMTMapsDemo.zipBrowserMT.zip

My fear is that this only works because I patched the driver. I could easily integrate a pinch and zoom functionality in the driver without the hardware supporting MT, that's the problem =/ Best regards, BB
Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Oh well, exactly this works for me too with the stock touchscreen controller firmware =/ For me it even works better, and that's weird.
Guest totiadrenalin Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Oh well, exactly this works for me too with the stock touchscreen controller firmware =/ For me it even works better, and that's weird. Well I guess that I flash the wrong firmware then? :/ Ok! So Is there any chance to fix it BB?
Guest UrbanRider Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Oh well, exactly this works for me too with the stock touchscreen controller firmware =/ For me it even works better, and that's weird. Show us a teaser video
Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Well I guess that I flash the wrong firmware then? :/ Ok! So Is there any chance to fix it BB? Well, I'm not sure anymore  Obviously the firmware you flashed didn't change anything although it is totally different from the firmware that was on the controller before. I'll have to think a bit about this all, maybe its not necessary to flash the controller. Its weird, but we both saw that we get something from the hardware when we put two fingers on the screen. Hell it would help so much if we had any I2C logger that we could just clip onto the touchscreen controller and see what it does. It just too difficult to say what's going on if you have to watch an Elephant through a 1mm hole ....
Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Show us a teaser video  Actually I could enable pinch zooming in the kernel, if there's interest in that.
Guest DanWilson Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Actually I could enable pinch zooming in the kernel, if there's interest in that. Yah please! Do we need to flash the touch controller though?
Guest totiadrenalin Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Actually I could enable pinch zooming in the kernel, if there's interest in that. Well I think that we all need only that for our pulse! That's why we need the multitouch at 1st. place. And if u do this I think that it's about time to put an end of this MT project. Because who plays "Piano" for example on the Pulse?
Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Yah please! Do we need to flash the touch controller though? Nope, not at all. You'll only have to flash the boot image. But beware, you will be able to pinch and zoom, but not the usual way. You'll have to put one finger in the down left corner of the screen. If you then move your second finger up and down you'll be able to zoom in or out.

Yap that's kinda true, although I'd really like to see MT on the Pulse  Well, I'll patch the driver now for pinch zooming. I'll upload a video once its working.

Guest BigBearMDC Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 You can consider it as pinch zooming, but you only move one finger instead of both.
Guest totiadrenalin Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 You can consider it as pinch zooming, but you only move one finger instead of both. So the second finger will be locked to 255 and the first finger will take control over the pinch and zoom? Ham? And then, I flash my touchscreen controll for nothing. NICE! Ok Man. Do it. I want true multitouch on my pulse two. But I guess that this is the true. Sad but true.

I'm just wandering if you get that effect better than i get in the video I show, then maybee I have to restore the old firmware? Ok! I'll do it.
Guest totiadrenalin Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Make it work with Froyo! Let the froyo like it is now. First the camera and the video playback to get work. Then i guess it'll be very easy to patch the CPU clock speed and pinch and zoom.
Guest flip360 Posted September 25, 2010 Report Posted September 25, 2010 Make it work with Froyo! i second that
