Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the Omnia II's camera? I work in a high security place where they are not allowed :)

There is a thread somewhere here that shows pictures of how to disassemble the entire phone. Sounds like major surgery though!

o.O i rather just paint over the lenses so you can't see through it than "surgically" removing it. xD

I did read on a Singapore forum of someone who had it removed... but really not remember how or where.

Cant be all that "high security" if they allow you to take a phone in !!!

Web enabled devices can be as much a security risk as a camera equipped one.

Rather then "kill" the O2 just get a real cheapie basic phone for use in the work area and swap the sim or get a second sim and forward the O2 to it ?

I dont have to go this way though, because no electronic devices are allowed and we just leave them with the security desk and pick up on leaving.

What about remove the link from APN button (or use it to an other applications) and remove link to camera in start menu ???

May be "AE Button" can do that ?

Then cover lens and leds by black tape under the backcover.

however, Bobobird's solution seams more easy !
