WM 6.5 Problems

After updating from WM6.1, there has been no real improvements and instead, lots of issues are randomly popping out.

There's this particular one that annoys me very much. Menu sometimes stop working! Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but sometimes Menu (accessed by clicking on it at the bottom right, e.g. Live Messenger) does not work. I can literally see that I have clicked on it but nothing comes up.

Also, messaging interface has some minor bugs. e.g When clicking the new message Icon or Menu -> New to compose a new message, it does not work!

PS: I'm using the latest one that Singapore service center offers.

I would like to find out if anyone else shares the same problem as me and if there is any solution? Thanks! :)

A quick question! Did you do the upgrading procedure by yourself or had it done in SSC?

If you were the one, did you perform a “HARD reset” then a “wipe eeprom” right after? If no, that might be the reason since I experienced the same with not doing so!

My Omnia2 was upgraded from wm6.1 to wm6.5 from Samsung service center. Program which I installed were the same. I had facing under wm 6.5 suka suka shut down the program easily and the free program memory still more then 40mb. Even worst I had to removed the battery many time during this period.

Then I wend for downgrade to H3 ROM. It worked better then 6.5 but still not so happy with it compared to my Omnia 1.

Came to this site and bytheway site to download and learned many from here:

1) first time I just freshed the PDA_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.MST withOCTANS_Mini.v2.11.exe. It worked better then the Original H3 .

2) This morning I sucessfully freshed to WM6.1 H5 ROM: CSC_I8000FAMIH4.CSC, Eboot_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.eb0, PDA_I8000XXIH5_HW_40.MST, Phone_I8000DXIH2_REV_04.bin by using OCTANS Downloader v2.10.exe. After completed the programme installed. It was the best so far I encountered.

Then I installed resco file explorer and capsure to check the free memory available as shown in the attached picture.

I installed more frequent progam and have a test run. Now it can run more program as shown in the attached picture. the free memory was greatly reduced.

Thank very much to those expert here, it was my first time sucessfully freshing the ROM. I will not going for wm6.5 until it became more mature.
