Guest pepe lacua Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Hi all. Specially Secany. I have flashed my I8000l with a I8000 firmware and now the phone function is not working. What i mean is that the simcard does not fregister on any network, and if I try to do it manually, it does not even find any one. So my question is the following. Does anyone have a I8000l firmware package? What about you Secany?? Can you find one??? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Secany has already warned people not to flash I8000 firmware with I8000L phones, as the I8000 and I8000L have different hardware. I guess you proved it doesn't work. I wouldn't rely on Secany for your ROM, since it appears he can mainly source the XX (European) ROMs, and its well known he's a busy man recently. You're better off heading back to the service centre and explaining why you suddenly have I8000XX Firmware, and hope that they don't void your warranty.
Guest foudasi Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Is your phone I8000L is LOCK PHONE (Sudsidized by Cellular Service Provider - Bell, ATT etc.). To protect themself (only them can upgrade for you - $$) they put a security or LOCK in side firmware (by manufacture - SAMSUNG). I guess that you can update the firmware after its unlock (no guaranty). Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I got directly from Samsung for development, and don't even them have a flash file. At least that's what they told me. I been looking for that package everywhere, and the only real support forum for this phone is this. I know secany is really busy, and that he warned us about this difference, but i am afraid he is my last resource. If someone else knows where to get this firmware please let me know thanks
Guest tacchan23 Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 Just for information... did you flash all 4 ROM parts? maybe people who wants to try again should try not to flash Phone part? Also it may worth a try to flash your phone again, just in case it was a bad flash...
Guest touchprogeek Posted November 18, 2009 Report Posted November 18, 2009 I too want to flash my Omnia2 i8000L but I cannot find any ROM's for it online. I have an unlocked Omnia 2. I would like to know how to dump my ROM for backup purposes. I have looked around the web and cannot find any clear instructions on how to do this. If someone is willing to help me walk through it, I would be willing to provide the ROM for kitchen purposes on the board. Anyone interested?

I think it has to be the eboot file and the phone part too that is causing this issue. The rest of the functions work just fine, but without the phone i have a very nice mp5 gadget. hahahaha

Make sure your simcard is register in a 3G network and you'll see the diference.
Guest KILLvino Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 what do you mean? my simcard is registered in a 3g network its just that in the operator settings for the phone, there is no bell selection available
