Guest big_mike_2k6 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Beta 2 Released: http://my.opera.com/operamobile/blog/2009/...-windows-mobile
Guest aceofrazgriz Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 (edited) I'm with 91dancer.... can't get it off mobile pages by default (some pages allow a certain addition to the link to get desktop version, try "/?m=false" after an address, no quotes.) Tried the opera:config settings page (type "opera:config" in the address bar,) changing the spoof setting, and even lower on the settings page a "Custom User Agent" string... can't get it to work at all.) Anyone get it working please post up... I actually like the improvements they've made and would like to keep using Opera, but a few pages don't accept the /?m=false thing and are useless sites as a mobile page. As for zooming as someone asked, its done by a single click now, and still only one level, but the zoom amount can be edited in the settings window, which loads up rather fast now. Guest bbjayo Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Is it just me or is zooming retarded in this version? It looks like you can only zoom to a single level and lines of text are exceeding screen width. This means I'm dragging the screen across for every line of text I need to read. It doesn't matter whther it's in landscape mode or not and zoom percentage doesn't get a perfect fit either. This makes it unusable for me. bb
Guest thescope Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 There is a new version Beta 2U. It now loads way faster, and some other stuff...
Guest pules Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 beta 2u is awesome This new update contains the following fixes/additions: * Support for auto-rotation * Support for right-to-left rendering of web content * Quicker launch, up to 70% faster on some phone models * Nicer shortcut icon for WM 6.5 (requires device reboot after install) * A few stability fixes * Several other minor bug fixes Download here.
Guest mickaelsnake Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 Hye, I give a try to the new version 10 beta 2, am i mistaken or it seems there is just one zoom not like the 9.5 version?
Guest bbjayo Posted January 15, 2010 Report Posted January 15, 2010 Hye, I give a try to the new version 10 beta 2, am i mistaken or it seems there is just one zoom not like the 9.5 version? No, you're not mistaken. I've tried everything to get the text to align to the width of my screen but nothing works. I can't understand how anyone can use this when you have to keep scrolling across to read text! bb
Guest andham Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 I quite like the new Opera 10 - used the beta and now the full version. But i (think) I have found a problem with it and the "Sleep of Death". If I have it open and the phone drops into sleep mode (for an extended period - about 10-15 mins) - it does not seem to wake up again and I have to reset the phone to get working again. This happens in both GPRS and Wireless modes. I have tried the same steps using the packaged Opera 9 version, and it seems to wake up without any problems. It would be (almost) that perfect mobile browser if it wasn't for that. Has anyone else had any similar problems? Phone: omnia SGH-i900 updated with official to DZIA5 (Yay - My first Rom flash)
Guest molko Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Yup - quite like it myself. A step up from Opera 9 (which I was also fairly happy with). Bugs I've spotted so far: - won't let you use letters (as opposed to numbers) when typing in the address field with the Samsung Phonepad - have seen this before, think it means the 'type' of field is set incorrectly. - can't seem to get even vaguely nice looking thumbnails on the 'speed dial' page. Anyone know how to fix these or more likely, where I can report them to the Opera people? (I'm assuming that's the point of a beta but can't find anywhere obvious to send my bugs through.) But other than that, haven't played with it too much but what I've seen so far looks nice. Cheers Vicky P.S. And I have a feeling that you can't remove Opera 9 unless you installed it on yourself on a lighter ROM, I'm afraid. Same 2 to me
