menu button on home screen

hi all

New pulse on contract,liking it so far.

However,noticed that the menu button (when pressed on the Home screen) sometimes shows the keypad,and sometimes a panel of buttons including 'settings' etc. Anyone else see this or know why it does this?

If you hold down the menu button for a few seconds, it gives you a keyboard.

If you then type a number, it will give you the dial screen.

If you then type a letter, it will search the contacts. Eg, if you type E, it will give all contacts starting with E.

If you press the menu button once, it gives several options including settings.
