Using NPS to upgrade to 6.5 or how to downgrade to official ih5 after flashing Secany Roms

For those try to updates using this method but fail, I believe is Windows issue because normatter how hard I try, it still prompt your device is not supported.

I get fed up, and found a PC running Windows XP, and bravo! it detect my device and updates accordingly!

I assume beside the detected CSC issue, it also detecting your Windows. I might wrong, I not sure about it. I just knew it is not detected my device is support when running updates in Windows 7, but it is working when I choose updates under Windows XP.

i think it's more a question of drivers

Andrew,

I think I am also facing the same problem as you. What a nightmate...try RS to get Secany ROM, but keep getting timeout and restart for 2 days already. Then try download XSOIJ2 for CSC and reflash back to ori ROM in an attempt to use NPS, but my OS is Win7...sigh! So I have no access to both Secany and NPS ROM. Sad case. I hope Samsung will release a new NPS that supports Win7 soon. Even OCTANS 2.10 and 2.11 support Win7 well. How come NPS such a disappointment?

Really? Did you manage to flash using NPS on Win7? What drivers did you use? Please share if you successfully resolved using NPS on Win7. TQ. ;)

Mi Omnia has

CSC I8000XSOIH1

Phone I8000DXIH2

I configured NPS as Singapure and Malasya.

I called Singapore CSC and they told me I have to sent my omnia there ;) ;) ;)

Ok i see 2 solutions.

1 try to use nps h2_h5 version http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/down...1.2.1.IH2_5.exe

to update to H5 first then use ik1 version to update to 6.5

if the nps h2_h5 don't prompt you for upgrade. then upgrade manually using octan to h5

then nps ik1 will prompt you for the upgrade

first option does´n work. "device not suported...."

I´ll we try Octans, but I am a bit afraid to make a brick ;) ;) ;)

Has Anybody other idea to fix NPS to upgrade.?

if you don't flash the eboot file you can try to flash again

anyway nps is using octans in the background to flash.

good luck.

Hi everyone,

Update you can find the real i8000XSOIH1 csc file in this thread http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...al-i8000xsoih1/

so ne need to use the fake one anymore.

i read that a lot of people wanted to do an official update using new pc studio k1 version( i was one of the people) after using secany or zorg firmware.

So i decided to give it a try.

Basicly nps detects which country you o2 is from using the csc file.

Problem the i8000xsoih1.csc can not be found.(For singapore)

So i decided to create a FAKE ONE based on famih4

and i was successful.

So i downgraded to i8000XXIH3 using zorg version

And phone dxih2

and using my fake csc.

So ihad

PDA: I8000XXIH3

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

and when i connected my phone to new pc studio i was prompt for the upgrade.

If you install NEW PC STUDIO VERSION H2_H5 instead of k1

http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/down...1.2.1.IH2_5.exe

NPS will update you to official H5 and it will overwrite my fake csc with the original one

PDA: I8000XXIH5

CSC: I8000XSOIH1

PHONE: I8000DXIH2

iI have attached my fake csc file.

As usual i am not responsible for any damage, brick, loss of data that can occur .

Tylwith

I have tried with your mentioned files.but failiure.my pc studio shows in the pc studio application GT I8000 (000 0000 0000). pl help me to upgrade 6.5.
