Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 1, not had that problem so not sure of a solution or what is causing that. 2, Take a look at this topic HERE to remove certain folders for the photo viewer search you need to edit the registry. One app Samsung have really messed up on. 3, Personally I use TCMP Core player for videos as the samsung player is just very poor, no issues with slowdown either. 4, You probably had something running in the background causing the power drain, media player is one app that is known to have this effect from time to time. 5, Check you have your firewall set up correctly on your pc. If that is all ok check the Enable advanced network functionality setting in General Settings/USB Connection, if it is enabled then disable it or if it is disabled then enable it. It's a bit quirky but seems to fix a lot of sync/connectino issues. 6, What do you meanresolution for auto rotating screen? I use OrientationDetection by mcbee for selecting apps I want to rotate. As for the ringtone there is no fix for this at the moment, it is also mentioned in the link in comment 2 Hope this helps :D
Guest tacchan23 Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 About problem 6, there are also some other options in the thread linked above (or in my signature) About battery, make sure to charge your phone untill a notice "battery fully charged" pops up (that happens some time after it show 100%)

Guest awarner (MVP) Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 TCPMP is no longer available for free, I use an old beta from many years ago, still works fine so I've never bothered to upgrade to a later version. The version I use is 0.72RC1 dated 2006

Then open Settings – Personal – Buttons and assign to any button the command “Rotate Screen” (you can see this option after you change the registry and only in winmo setting page) (working well for me, I prefer to be able to choose when I want to view something in landscape mode than relaying on how I rotate my phone…) where is this Personal – Buttons and assign to any button the command “Rotate Screen”. I don't have the Personal Tab... and i can't seem to map it when i go to Settings- General- Button...

That's all folks! 1) This was normal in wm6.5. I had been testing IJ9, IK5 and IJC. Now I used back HH5, disabled Samsung widgetplus and Damsung today. With about 21 program installed. I still have free storage 100mb and free program 73mb. no closing my background app leow. 2) Photo viewer will picked up all photo, picture in Omnia2 in different directory. you can used slide show of the picture for the particular folder. It better then resco photo viewer. I was no using the gAlarm but I found Samsung Clock good enough for me. 3) The battery was good for me. Even I had a spare battery and never worry about it.

You need to do it trough the winmo setting page, not from the Samsung setting page (if you didn't already, you can unhide it with registry tweak or cab from the same link as above)

That's all folks! auto closed was the gift of wm6.5 and made me sick. Goto back to wm6.1 and my problem solved. No doubt samsung had improved the menu system which used your program ram about 5mb where wm6.1 was about 8mb.

That's all folks! It could be nice if you had elaborated about your ROM version! Anyway, regarding your question #2, you can refer to THIS thread as well about #4, beside programs might be running at background without your knowledge or resided apps in the RAM while they are even not running, it depend on your ROM as well about #5, it could be you firewall setting, I'm getting the regular internet connection on my Win7 and XP via MDC & ActiveSync without any setting changes required on my NOD32, btw, I'm on IJ9 Edited November 25, 2009 by iWiNMo

Guest iWiNMo Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 Hi, i don't know how to specify the ROM but this is the specs i got from my phone. CE os 5.2.21863(build 21863.5.0.67) Pda IJ9, windows mobile 6.5 How to remove the resided apps in the RAM?? Here is how to determine your Device/OS version: Setting>Advanced Settings>Version> Device (or Windows mobile for OS)> There is PDA,CSC & Phone version So! You are on PDA IJ9 which has been rated one of the most stable ROM, in-regard with period that it has been released, therefore I assume you are headache has been caused by your installed application/s, for instance, if you install "Wisbar Advance Desktop" and "SPB Mobile Shell" on your O2, it will lead to a boring and sluggish device, at least happened in my case. Other example, S2U2 uses 5MB of RAM while it's running in background and you can not disable/deactivate it by Task-Manager but by its dedicated lock-shaped icon only. Also, If you keep-on install and uninstall lots of apps, the remaining invalid shortcuts/registry keys COULD cause some portion of your memory leak as well , that's why I love SKTools and its Tune.Up and cleaning,.. tools ;-)
