Guest yaughan Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 People here have said Media Player (formerly Touch Player) plays subtitles fine, as long as the format is a separate .SMI file. However I can't get this to look good. I've tried both SubReSync and Subtitle Workshop to convert my .SRT files. The problem is whenever a sub is split over two lines, e.g. When the crunch comes, I will do my best. ...in Media Player the lines are combined with nonsense characters in between, right aligned and cut off, looking like this: When the crunch comes,@€I will do m The only workaround I've found is to use Subtitle Workshop. Edit-Select All, then Edit-Unbreak Subtitles so everything is displayed on one line. Which loses the rhythm of the original dialogue. Any better suggestions please?
Guest allyrocky Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 I'm also facing the same problem .. and work arounds
Guest surenz Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 The problem appears on my phone also. I found out that every line break <br> makes the appearance of the non-sense characters. Somehow I managed to launch also *.srt subs and there the characters appear at the end of every line, even though there is one line :) I changed all the parameters like encodings and languages but nothing helped. So finally unfortunately we have Touch Player that have useless support of subtitles because it has far superior video quality and speed than TCPMP player.
Guest ravelcop Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 same here, but if not played in full screen, subtitle is perfectly fine
