Hey,

Well, just to let you know, this phone does already have official wm6.5 updates already...i've been using it for about a mth already! :D I dun think it can be upgraded to winmo7 officially...it does lag at times for me..oh another weakness is its lack of RAM and main memory which can be quite a bother at times...

I've nv owned i900 so i can't compare but IMHO i think the latest official IJ9 does improve the web browser's rendering speed significantly as compared to when it was just released...so i'm pretty pleased with that...but currently using Opera 10beta...i think it's even faster! :( Interface wise, touchwiz is definitely not the fastest UI around i guess but it's usable...i'm using the default windows titanium and it's pretty fluid i feel..

Battery life.. i'm currently having badd experience with the battery cuz it's giving onli 1day or less...but many ppl has commented average of 2 days...so i dunno wads wrong with my phone.. ;)

Abt omnia pro...other than the qwerty, i think there's a small difference in the touchwiz UI, it has an additional today screen i think tt looks more professional for business use..

Other than tt...i love the camera! the amoled screen! and everything else!

Cheers!

Battery life for me is good

TouchWiz is a steaming pile of, you are better off buying SPB Mobileshell as it is far superior

Browsing is dependant on your network connection, it's not the fastest but as I do not own an original Omnia I can not really say if it is better or not.

Windows 6.5 is now standard on the device unless you are buying an early model.

W7 update? nothing has been announced yet but do not hold your breath.

I think this one is a very good phone indeed. For the price/specs relation it is a very well rounded device. The other options you may consider are Acer neotouch or HTC HD2, not many interesting things apart from those two under my point of view. Toshiba TG01... maybe not, too big, and the rest may be good ones but old phones.

For me, what made me buy Omnia 2 was that it has better build quality and camera, together with a better UI customization (I mean the programs samsung added of course, not the buggy touchwiz) compared with Acer. And also 8GB of memory, more RAM, and with a processor that is very similar in specs to the 1Ghz snapdragon. And also neither of the two is going to fully support WM7.

Also, the HTC HD2 is a too big phone, with a very very high price. It doesn't have internal storage and I don't like to have a camera without a dedicated button. It is a good device with a good and big screen, but it is the first one of a new wave, so it maybe be soon surpassed by the new Win Mo 7 devices coming out next year, and I don't know how good will be its Win Mo 7 support, so I am not going to pay that extra price tag for it. I prefer to have the Omnia and depending on what Win Mo 7 brings, upgrade to a new WM7 phone in 2 or maybe 3 years.

That's my point of view, I am sure many of you will disagree as it is such a personal decision... but that's what a forum is for, discussing different topics.

Cheers!
