Guest jan_bar Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Hi, when I switch off the display backlight (not suspend), buttons doesn't work, only the lock button works. This is quite unfortunate as you cannot operate for instance MP3 player with dimmed display. You can test with http://www.pocketgear.com/en_US/html/displ...d=prod7171758pg. Can I switch this "feature" off? Thank you, Jan
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 That app you have linked to turns the display off and does not "dim" it so you can not test your problem. You can turn off the backlight in Settings/General Settings/Power/Battery Power As for your problem it sounds like a possible ROM error, the volume hardware buttons and on-screen tabs should still work fine. Hardware volume buttons also still work when you have media player running and press the standby button.
Guest jan_bar Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Thanks for your answer, indeed it works with media player. I will investigate further because for instance with PocketPlayer the "dim" also locks the button, with the application from my initial link too (and it claims to dimm just the display). Regars, Jan
Guest jan_bar Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 The buttons doesn't work when the screen is off but oddly enough the volume up/down works in Windows Media Player (but not Pocket Player).
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Sounds like Pocketplayer could do with an update to add the feature.
