I've noticed recently that a lot of Windows Mobile phone manufacturers no longer include LED indicators in their phones - Omnia II included. They use be positioned on either side of the earpiece speaker. I think it is a shame because they indicated a missed phone call or text message without turning the device on.

Does anyone know why they decided to get rid of them?

thanks

No idea officially but all things like that can reduce the battery life especially the old signal indicator that used to flash every few seconds.

May not use much power but still a drain. Also a lot of people used to compalin about how they wanted to stop the flashing as it was disturbing them at night so that may be another reason.
