I had slowness using camera when I had it set to save to my sd card and it turned out that the sd card needed to be reformated. Thought I would share this as a post since I have seen a number of different people asking for help with slowness of either camera or media player when pointing to sd card :-)

You can format the card with the phone, but that doesnt work - it just erases, not formats it seems - you need to download this sdformatter:

panasonic sd formatter (doesnt matter if your card is not on the list, it is a generic formatter).

Of course, you will need to be able to plug your sd card into your PC - there are adapters and even USB ones for that:

USB microSD card reader

Anyway, once I mounted the SD card with my PC, I could see that it wasn't formatted correctly - had some extra shite on it. Formatted it and it now works correctly in phone and I can use camera as expected when configured to use the sd card.

Please note that you will need to move any data on the card before formatting otherwise it will be lost! :-)

I simply plugged my card into the cardreader and formatted it as FAT32. Never had any problem you mentioned. It's the simplest way to do it and doesnt require any extra program!
