It contains the kernel and the ramdisk.img (which I think *is* a yaffs2 image). The pulse has a different partition order make sure you do cat /proc/mtd as specified and use the correct partition number for the boot partition. I have used this process successfully on the pulse. Ok let's keep it english here :) The guys here at modaco are working hard to get it up and running from scratch (as you can see on this forum as well), and there seems to be an official promise for an update (to 2.0 maybe), for the 1st quarter of 2010.

Also, I'm a bit worried about a few things using ROMs from here. First off, I live in Germany, so will loading a non-german ROM make my network incompatible, or does the ROM have nothing to do with network and other such behind the scenes things? Basically I want a new OS because 1.5 sucks. It is also very slow.

Changing phone software has no effect on the ''behind-the-scene'' things. The 2.1 betas were quite buggy, but I've had no crashes, freezes of any sorts using this Vanilla rom, and I've got a load of apps/widgets installed/running.

Can you show me the thread that says otherwise?If that happens you have not flashed your phone correctly. Vibration and widgets work fine if you update correctly.
