On the i920, at least. Enormously.

Note that the 920 has stereo speakers, and may be different and better than the i8000. Can't speak to the latter.

However, after I installed WOWHD, I played a variety of music genres via Coreplayer, and messed around with settings in the SRS WOW control panel. My subjective observations:

  • Makes everything louder, without creating harmonic distortion
  • All controls have the same audio effects as they do with headphones
  • With the external stereo speakers, changing the output type to Internal (Stereo) sounds much better than set to Headphones, and again, makes it a bit louder
  • Turning up the TruBass to 100%, and the Speaker Size to 400Hz makes a real difference in terms of tone and richness, filling out the low end much better than with my usual settings for headphones on the 910
  • Turning down input gain some (-4dB) vs. where I set it on headphones (-2dB) also makes the overall tone quality and richness sound better

    My 920 Internal (Stereo) Settings:

    WOW HD Settings tab:
    • SRS 3D Effect: 100%
    • SRS Center Effect: 70%
    • SRS Focus Level: 50%
    • SRS Definition Level: 0% (this, and TruBass, are what really kill the tinniness)

    TruBass tab:

    [*]SRS TruBass Level: 100%

    [*]SRS TruBass Speaker Size: 400Hz

    [*]Input Gain: -4dB

    [*]Output Gain: -2dB

Is this the same SRSWOW HD for the I910?

The version from this thread.

And yes, it is the same version/driver as we were all using on the Omnia (i9x0), with a tweak from the thread author to make it work on the O2.
