On RoM 23637 M2D Touch Response on Winmo Phonebook is bad... <_<

Dear OCK,

I have a small proposition :(

Do you think anytime to do a rom for i900 which will be a copy B7300 Omnia Lite ?

Narrowly I mean, it should have this application, which we find in Omnia Lite, with working Samsung Wigdet Today Screen.

I think, the best it is to use a WM build with "start" button on down part of a touchscreen (and of course some useful apps like: PimBackup, Dial-up EnablerDisabler, WOW HD etc.).

I know, you don't want to start to make this rom, but maybe if you want, to try, you can first to poll public opinion in this forum :D That's only suggestion :D

And I'd like to know, what about it think others? B)

Hmm... haven't been testing Samsung TOday, that would take a few test builds to get it right.

i notice that i can't listen mp3 through bluetooth.

how can i do that?

thanks!

You're using mono-BT set? Unfortunately my current roms don't include BTAR fix. Still can't get volume control to work with the fix.

Good for the weather thing! I don't like it...so i don't use it!

But data connection works only with the M2D version of your rom... why?

Strange... you mean GPRS?

Hi there

Looks like there is a small problem when connecting to the internet or did I miss something

Try the steps on my second post.

On RoM 23637 M2D Touch Response on Winmo Phonebook is bad... :)

It's quite ok for me, or do you mean Samsung Phonebook? Agree that the scrolling's pretty erratic on that. <_<

I found bad touch response in mail application. Only in this app, others are OK, e.g. Resco Explorer scrolls on very light touch.

Currently I am running Titanium Classic Build 23637. after buying my Omnia last week i tried at least four roms, and finally this one deserve the prize for the correct balance between perfomance, stability, functionality and design, which leaves me with enough ram and speed to run the applications I used daily as Garmin and others. With a few add-ons to titanium home screen it works perfectly. I only have one request if it is possible to lord OCK, I found in the rom only three things that are annoying me if you can help:

1. The time to compose a new SMS or read one it takes at least 3 seconds to 5 seconds (but I think it is a matter of our phone cpu speed processor when running wm6.5, so correct me if I am wrong, but I think there is no hope of solution)

2. The terribly slow Touch Calendar, changing Month, to Week, to Day, to Tasks takes at least 5 to 10 seconds each , is this happening with everybody or is just me because the information in my calendar? My question is OCK, do you think the default WM6.5 calendar would be faster than this? And if the answer is Yes, is there any possibility to change the Touch Calendar with the default one?

3. The Showcase response is sometimes doesnt respond or freezes specially when you are running two apps with a significant ram load, classically Opera for example.

I've been cooking a M2Dv1 rom for myself, and in fact I prefer it as I don't need weather on my homescreen. I plan to cook the next WMD 28xxx build that comes up.

hi ock!

would be nice to see that rom here <_< i don't need weather on homescreen either, and v1 is far smoother than v2. atm i'm using v1 over a com2 build, wich i think is a very solid combination - smooth/fast/stable, and so on.. but i want to give new UI another try soon (my laste one was your 22004 and it was cool).

i post some screen shots for you with a theme modified by me:

With the 23637 build (ultra lite version) I noticed something weird: From time to time the device won't wake up anymore. It doesn't matter if it was suspended manually or automatically. I cannot tell it occurs at a specific time. The device won't wake up by any button. Only taking out the battery helps. except this problem it is the best rom I tested so far !!!!! <_<

Has anybody experienced this too ? Maybe it is a program installed ? In a build 23529 from pdhee this never happened. Any ideas ?

thx in advance ! chris

when I upgraded to the new rom I restored my data with spb backup without any problems. Maybe there is the problem ? I don't want to reinstall all my configurations again when upgrading the rom (e.g. from 23519 to 23637).

What is this sleep of dead problem thing about ?

thx !

I have a problem with touch calendar, when I view a month with a lot of appointments I can't change tab and I can't enter options, this also seams to occur after viewing a month with lots of appointments and trying to view a less busy one close to it... I don't know how to explain it, but I guess my point is that I would love to have the original calendar as a very stable back up, but I can't seam to find it in this release.

sod is what you described and many of the builds cooks use to make the rom's is affected. I know many use a backup program but remember that those backups programs are written for officials roms and not for customs rom's so the backup file may not be as expected. I don't use backup programs so can't really say if that is your problem. Try to hard reset and use your backup file again and see if the problem remains

Dear "OCK"...

Can you post me the cab for the app, that one when you tapping on the top taskbar and a horizontal pannel appearces with some large icons (zoom, connection, sound, battery...)??? I want to install it in one of your UltraLite's roms...

Also, I want that HTC Task Manager with the right-top-corner button, when you tapping on there's a pannel with large buttons, showing which apps are running on the background? I want this app too and can't find it...

Does the HTC taskmanager really work well with WM 6.5.3, cuz I remember it as pretty nice from my 6.1 days... If you find it doesn't go well with the finger friendly UI, my tip is Arkswitch, you can set it to be activated wherever you like at the top bar, it's built for6.5.3, and it has a really nice interface with detailed info on each task.

Don't mean any offence, just curios and wish to help you out... Don't know anything about the horizontal panel thingy... sorry...

Are you using OCK's rom? OCK is using this app, that "horizontal panel" with LARGE icons for "Zoom", "Batter", "Connection, "Volume", "Clock"... and maybe some others.

Thxs for the other app...

I THOUGHT SO (HTC taskmanager) doesn't working in 6.5s... 'cause it F*CKED UP my phone and I hard-reset it! Hahaha...

I'll check that app you wrote.

Hi Master Ock, i got your Titanium Classic Rom Build 23637, and works great, but something i noticed is that my omnia never go to sleep, i leave it for a while and after some minutes it still in low backlight. I have to push the power button to send it to sleep.

I've tried every option in the battery menu, but it doesn't work. Do you have any idea of what happened?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I have the same problem (posted it on the page before yours), I think it has to do with touch calendars inability to handle many appointments at the same time.

As I think its a flaw in the program I solved the problem by installing ThumbCal, really great software thats even more finger friendly and has a better interface.

I suspect it's a program you've installed, as it works fine for me.

It's not an app, but a feature of later versions of WinMo with the start button below. :(

Arkswitch may be a good alternative to HTC manager.

Damn! I thought so... and I didn't want to believe it. Damn!... I'm using one older rom of yours, too bad.

BTW... the old HTC taskmanager doesn't working in 6.5s. But the x-button is working!!!! Only, though, it has small icons...

Ahh pity. I don't understand how they managed to f...up the sms-ing in winmo so much... I mean so many things that are far more cpu intensive run so fast, but the sms-ing is sooo slow. Go figure.. :D
