Guest bishop4142 Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 (edited) Has anyone who is running 6.5 successfully installed an app (i.e skype, google maps, etc) to your storgae card. I know if you use market place you cannot, but before I buy the in Omnia II and want to make sure Microsoft didn't cripple this feature. I wouldn't put it past them Thanks Edited December 13, 2009 by bishop4142
Guest Shemmy Posted December 13, 2009 Report Posted December 13, 2009 I've installed all but maybe four of my applications to the 8GB My Storage.
Guest bishop4142 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Thanks... I heard MS changed the software so that you could only install programs not files to the phones main mem. MArketplace does NOT give you the option to store to the card, which really sucks I've installed all but maybe four of my applications to the 8GB My Storage.
Guest ajhvdb Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 wITH skTools you can move an application after installation.
Guest bishop4142 Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 On the MArketplace Forum there are 100+ post and a few of them said that the programs couldn't be moved. wITH skTools you can move an application after installation.
Guest Shemmy Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Okay, this is how it works: The MS Marketplace automatically installs programs to the main device memory and either deletes the cab or stores it someplace that's darn near inaccessible. MS did this to prevent software piracy. Applications that are acquired from other sources, either free ones or ones you've downloaded from other stores (handago, etc) usually can be installed to storage cards (some programs cannot, and that has nothing to do with anything other than that particular program). SK Tools is a program which provides you with several means to tweak the OS - one of it's features is the ability to safely relocate programs from main memory to storage cards.
