Guest WidowmakerNZ Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Hi guys, Have had my omnia 2 for a while now and it all works fine apart from one thing that continues to annoy me I bought it in Singapore and have taken it to NZ. I changed the GPRS and MMS settings over to NZ and they work all good Most programmes I can set what connection I use so I switch to the vodafone GPRS and it works a treat However a couple of the programmes still use the IDEAS WAP which I cannot seem to edit. I cant delete it or add the Vodafone equivalent. So I try to use connectedhome or java for example and it tries to connect to IDEAS WAP and fails Any ideas how I could either switch them to use my already configured vodafone GPRS or how I could change the IDEAS WAP to a NZ Vofafone equivalent Thanks

In some of the older ROMs it was not possible to delete/rename the WAP connection created by the operator settings. Ideally you should just have Vodafone NZ access point defined for a 3G data connection then every app will only be able to use this or Wifi for Internet access. If you re-flash with IL5 ROM and choose I8000EURIL5.csc from withing the MultiCSC with UK English you will be able to rename and change the settings of the default UK operator to Vodafone NZ (actually you can do this in earlier ROMs too but I forgot at which version it was possible to rename). You can use Secany's standard Samsung IL5 ROM or one of the cooked versions based on this.
