Guest gmarcoux Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I am looking for an easier way than this ( http://www.modaco.com/content-page/296097/...etc/page/160/#) to restore a rom from this dump file ( http://www.modaco.com/content-page/296097/...etc/page/140/#) Any help would be appreciated. All I really need is the PDA part but the dump is in .bin format and I don't know exactly where to go from here.

Guest gmarcoux Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 try this http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...-to-dump-a-rom/ to dump and restore a rom (pda and eboot part) ;) Although this would have helped if I had not yet flashed my phone I have already flashed and it would pull the flashed rom rather than the stock. I do have a backup but it is in.bin format. I'm not sure these instructions can help me with that type of back up. Thanks for the help though

Thanks for the help though Maybe I didn't understand, but even if you have flashed your rom with a nb0 file you do can recover the original rom following my procedure (don't mind if you haven't a previous back up of the original rom)...if you want to do something else well explain in more details... All i have left is a .bin version of the original. Are you saying that your method would still pull the original PDA part even though I've flashed a different one
Guest gmarcoux Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 ok.. maybe i'm wrong (which is more likely) your procedure indicates that:"First we have to get the louvre.mli file from the device (which contains the pda and eboot part)" but i thought that since I've already flashed a different PDA part on my phone that it would no longer have the original. Does anyone have any ideas?

Guest gmarcoux Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 maybe it's strange but you can restore your original rom with my procedure trust me try and then say me if it's all ok... So I followed your steps and here were my results. At the time I did this I was running RFD O2 Lite rom. The program did pull an MLI but had a different name "Cubic31.mli". What happened was that it did not restore my original Bell Canada rom but instead restored Secanny's IL2 PDA part which I had installed previously. Any Ideas?

Any Ideas? well you flashed not a nb0 file but a mst one so now in order to tranform the bin file you have into a nb0 file you have to follow the wes hint in the cooking thread...no simpler way sorry Edited December 20, 2009 by kibiwi
Guest touchprogeek Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I successfully restored my Bell Canada ROM from the dump I made by following the instructions from wes58 that you listed in the OP. If you can't get it working in the next day or so, I'll try and upload my fixed Bell ROM and you can download that and flash it.

I tried to understand wes58's steps but I have no idea how to divide the revers file size by 1F800...

Guest gmarcoux Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 if you can wait a bit pako is releasing his executor v 2.5 which can transform a bin file into a nb0 one... ;) SO I managed to create an nb0 file but when I flashed it failed right at the end and almost bricked my phone. I'll just have to wait for someone to post their bell .nb0 or the new executor to come out. Thanks for all the help guys...I learned a lot
