Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Hi all sorry to bring bad news, Due to licence and copyright issues we have recieved an official request to remove cab files and ROMs containing the application Swype. As the i920 already has Swype preinstalled technically as long as you do not alter the application and leave it "as is" you may now include it in your i920 builds. If you ,ake an alteration to the application in any way please do not include it in your ROMs. You can follow the story below if there is a change to this I will let everyone know. http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...d/#entry1132388 Thank you for your co-operation regarding this application Ashley
Guest sorg Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 i believe, cooked ROMs for i920 may include SWYPE since it's originally there.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 That is true so it is then the duty of the person cooking the ROM to remove the application to prevent non-Verizon users attempting to use it.
Guest Robtao Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Can we get an update of the status of SWYPE in ROMs for phones which include it already? There are plenty of other places besides custom ROMS to get the CAB and we Verizon users just want to be able to keep SWYPE with full functionality in phones for which we have already paid to get SWYPE.
