Guest jacobgong Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 As in what materials will scratch it? It obviously is not normal plastic and has a pretty nice hard coating. Also is the screen made of really thin glass? it seems to have a little space between the bottom later and can be slightly deformed when pressed. I peeled off the screen protector that came with it because it gets kind of frosty in sunlight. it would be nice if someone knows what kind of coating is it, as well as it's hardness scale.
Guest deepower Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) that "thin glass" is what makes resistive touchscreen work: the bottom layer reads the the data (electric) from the top, thin layer. And makes the screen pressable with lots of different materials, unlike capasitive screens. The coating is not that great but it surely will protect the screen get scrached in daily use. hope i can help, deepower Edited December 19, 2009 by deepower
Guest Uboy Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I thought that the AMOLED screen contained no glass layer at all and the digitizer layer is just plastic.
