Guest sane? Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 "We're afraid that you can only be part of one of our top-up reward offers at any time, .... or buy one of our 30 day Boosters, then you'll have to opt-out of this reward first." So sounds like a 5day booster is ok but not a 30 day one. But hey only 10 days to go till free net kicks in (hopefully!)! Hmm, that's the way it seems to read doesn't ? I wonder if its going to work out that way, or if its any web booster that kills the free Internet/SMS for the month. If you don't get a booster and play with your new toy for say five days between Christmas and 1st Jan, that's £5 If you get a 5 day booster and its terms are as they say they are, that's £2.50 If you get a 5 day booster and then find out on 1st Jan that they are telling porkies, its £5 for the 30 days, or £7.50 in total. Hmm, looks like a gamble - do you feel lucky?
Guest glossywhite Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 As I said, T-mobile = SCAM. Say what you like; there really is no helping some people - do what you want, I'm just telling ya.
Guest ceedee Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Agreed, text "6MONTHWEB" instead. 6 months internet for £20, instead of £10 for 1 month. Also, with regards to "acceptable usage limits", I stream music from Last.FM or Spotify every morning and evening (on my way to and from work), plus all the GMail, GTalk, Google Maps usage etc. Even better would be to top up just over £10 on Dec 31st to qualify for free texts and web access during January, then top up by more than £10 on Jan 31st to qualify for free texts and web access during February. Then just before the end of February, top up the cost of whatever call time you've used (so that your balance is at least £20 and then use your £20 credit to purchase the 6MONTHWEB access through until the end of August. This would give you two months free texts and EIGHT months web access for £20! (The only current offer I know of that even beats this, is from the new MVNO giffgaff who are offering free web access until the end of April and very cheap calls and texts.)
Guest zerosignull Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 You know _leagally_ all those of us that bought a a PULSE this month (december) shoule be leggaly entitled to free intenet and Web next month (jan-10) as we were force to buy a topup with our phone.
Guest wlee Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) i thought we were getting free web and text in jan Edited December 22, 2009 by wlee

You will, if you topped up in December you will get it in Jan. What's the problem? I don't think anyone(at least in this thread) has said that won't happen.
Guest zerosignull Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 i spoke to the support personell at t-mobile at she left the distinct impression that I would need to top up again before 31st december to recieve the free web+text in jan-10

Guest wlee Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 but then again they also said you get the free web and texts 1 month from when you topup :)
Guest Darren XVI Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 I am currently using this £10 PAYG deal for unlimited internet and texts the next month. The "6MONTHWEB" to 441 seems like a fantastic offer for 6 months of internet for £20, but how will I go around getting the unlimited texts with this offer? Will I have to still pay £10 every month to get the unlimited texts?
Guest ceedee Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 Will I have to still pay £10 every month to get the unlimited texts? Remember you get the "free texts and web" purely for topping up £10 -- you can still 'spend' the £10 on calls, texts or boosters, or just leave it to accumulate. (Not sure if you can have more than one booster at the same time but, if so, you could purchase the "Unlimited Monthly Text" booster for £9.)

If you're actually going to top up the £10 per month then there's no point in getting the 6 month web option, as you can't use two lots of free internet.

I have only spent £4.81 out of the £10 pound I put on, on the 30th November. So with just over a week left of December, I was thinking that I would have money to spare, which will then just accumulate. I was thinking that the left over money will keep adding up and be wasted, but I am sure one month I will go a bit call happy and spend more than the £10 I put on in the previous month. ;) Is this the best I could do (regarding packages)? I am enjoying the free texts and internet package a lot! Internet is great and I find the 40MB a day more than enough. Texts are what I do the most, so having unlimited is good :) . It's a tricky one, without actually going and doing the maths properly. Assuming that your texts and calls average about £5 a month then in 6 months you'll use £30 of credit. If you're toping up £10 per month to get the free web you'll have £30 left at the end of the 6 months. If you got the £20 deal then you wouldn't need to top up every month, and you'd probably end up £10 better off.

So I think this may be the better deal. When you opt for the 6 months of web for £20, does it actually deduct £20 from your credit? or do you just have to have more than £20 on your phone to "qualify" for it? (similar to the £10 for web and texts where you need to put £10 on to get the offer, but then you can use that for calls) So, just say I was to pay £20 for 6 months of free web, would I then have to top up extra to make calls and texts? Or could I use the £20 I put on to get the 6 months of web and use that aswell for calls and texts? (Sorry if you don't get what I mean haha, I think I am over confusing things. :) )
Guest wlee Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 nah, it takes £20 credit of your credit

Guest Spook Tooth Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 Is there an equivalent to the T-Mobile 6 month internet deal on Vodafone PAYG? I check their site but couldn't find anything similar (well as good a deal really). Kept going round and round in circles on the Vodafone site. I don't want tethering, just the ability to use my Pulse for basic web surfing etc without getting caned. Vodafone Mobile Internet link Cheers :)

But I doubt that they'll be able to match T-Mobile.
Guest alienbb Posted December 24, 2009 Report Posted December 24, 2009 Monthly Text & Internet Reward Connect a new SIM card that you've got (either with or without a phone) from one of our stores, telesales team or website to T-Mobile pay as you go from 1 November 2009 to 31 January 2010 and you'll automatically be opted into our Monthly Text and Internet Reward. We're afraid that you can only be part of one of our top-up reward offers at any time, so you won't get Little Extras when you join with this offer. If you try to opt in to another top-up reward or buy one of our 30 day Boosters, then you'll have to opt-out of this reward first. If you opt in to another reward prior to making your first top up, you won't get this reward. And if you move price plans to our Text Appeal plan you'll lose this reward. You can opt out of this reward at any time by texting STOP TEXTWEB to 441. Once you've opted out of this reward then you won't be able to opt back in again. Just in case :)

Just in case :) I'm still using an old SIM in the pulse with Relax PAYG tariff (expensive calls) but did the monthweb to 441 for £5 on that and will check on the new SIM (in my M900 ATM) in Jan. Mainly use data on pulse, Use contractphone (HD2) for calls. Just got 50 free texts till 29th Dec (old SIM)
Guest Speckles Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 For some weird reason, I paid £12 to unlock my pulse, put my Orange sim into the pulse, then thought about it a bit and put the T-Mobile sim back in before making any calls due to the data plan. I got a £20 topup when I bought the phone (Mandatory, apparently, since it was £40 off), and so I get "Completely free and unlimited texts and internet". When I asked for there definition of "unlimited" they said "Completely free of charge, use it as much as you like". I had to read the TOS to find the real definition (40MB per day). I'm not sure if the sales person was new, but he didn't know when I'd get the free internet and texts "It'll probably be a few days for the paperwork to be processed" (They really do that still? I would have thought it would be electronic...) Then again, he couldn't even tell me the price of the calls. He told me 8p, 12p, 20p and 25p in the short time of about 2 minutes. He asked a colleague which responded with "I think it depends on if you topup on the previous month". I decided to visit the webpage for that information too. I remember them showing me a demonstration phone, but couldn't show me the internet as they couldn't find a sim card that worked. Suprising for a company where that seems to be there main business... At least they did know where the new ones were however so they could still sell me one. I must admit though, If I had not read about it before hand, I probably would have walked out a long time before then... So, I should get January free, then topup at the end of Jan with £10 to get February free, then ask for a 6 month web out of what will be probably be about £28 remaining credit (I use Orange OVP Virgin for most calls).
Guest sane? Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 What a surprise, Jan comes and no free internet. I've sent a complaining email, but no response so far. Good job my phone is unlocked, because if they don't fix it, and the extra web I've now had to buy, they'll get dumped.
Guest pulsehelp Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) I added 10 pound on the 30 Dec just to make sure, got a text back to say i would get the free internet plus texts. on the 1 Jan i tested and i do have it. But not happy with internet connections so getting a unlock code from the offer on this site should get that on 4 jan as holidays. So i can test some other networks. What speeds should we be getting on 3G Thanks Edited January 2, 2010 by pulsehelp
Guest wlee Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 i got the phone last month too during the sale, only had the £10 mandatory topup and have free net and texts now
